Thai Express Whanganui — Restaurant in North Island

We, a group of eight people, had a significant disappointment regarding a recent experience at your restaurant. On June 18th, I specifically telephoned your establishment to inquire about your policy on bringing our own beer. During that call, a male staff member explicitly confirmed twice that this would be perfectly acceptable without any fee. We only needed to pay for wine and alcohol.

However, upon our visit to your restaurant on June 28th, the owner unexpectedly requested a $20 fee for our beer, directly contradicting the clear confirmation I had received just days prior. To compound the issue, both the owner and the male staff member denied any recollection of our earlier conversation. My attempts to have them clarify the initial agreement with other staff members were met with an apparent inability or unwillingness to do so. Ultimately, the previously agreed-upon arrangement was not honored, leading us to decide against consuming our beer at your establishment. The way this situation was handled wasn't pleasant, and it significantly detracted from our overall enjoyment of the evening.

As an Aucklander - This is THE best Thai Food I’ve EVER had. If I could give 6 stars I would! Even up here things that are more pricey aren’t as good as what I had here 😍 I am an avid Thai Food Consumer 😅 And I promise nowhere is better than this place!

I didn’t know Fried rice could be so delicious, they turned a usually plain meal into something that tasted like it was from an expensive restaurant. So mouth watering! Their pork was deliciously tender with a crispy outer part and beautiful sauce over the bok choy. We got a couple of other things that were delicious too!

It’s not called Thai Express for nothing - Our food came out in about 15minutes. I’m genuinely sad that I’m writing this in Auckland right now, a few months after I went. (Just had some bad Thai Food that reminded me I needed to give this amazing restaurant a good review.) Reminiscing makes me want to come here again ☹️ I left extremely happy and satisfied. Amazing service, they brought out a jug of water and cups without even asking 🫶🏼

I came here with 2 others and the cost was approximately $65-$70 We got 5 dishes to share and still had leftovers...

I have been eating in Thai Express and now I got to experience their delivery through DeliverEasy. I ordered Crispy Pork and Fried Rice. From the app. the menu says 21. Crispy BBQ pork but I made sure to enter in instructions that I only want Crispy Pork and not BBQ pork, they read it and pay attention to all my notes. The Fried Rice was good texture, still warm and good amount. I rate it as 4 since it could use more soy sauce. The Crispy Pork amount is just enough, crispiness is good but not the best maybe because it had been covered for long. I'll try it again dining in. Taste needs some more salt hence the rating is 4. The takeaway presentation is well kept. This is far the most reliable asian fastfood...
