The Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in North Island

I have mixed feelings about this location. On one hand, the food is relatively nice and presented cleanly, but on the other hand, the service was awkward and uncomfortable. The server had misheard what I ordered and when it arrived, I informed the server that I had ordered a different item (I ordered satay, but received pad thai). I have worked in the hospitality industry for a while now and when I make a mistake, it becomes a priority to rectify and give the customer a good experience. Instead, I was met with indifference and the server awkwardly standing there, waiting for me to take the food. It was unnerving, and it made me feel like I was at fault. I think this review should be a moment of learning for this server to confirm the order before ringing it up to the kitchen. Today we had the pleasure of going to The Thai Restaurant. Overall, the store had attentive staff, and great customer service. We ordered the duck red curry, sweet and sour snapper, som tom, curry puff, chicken satay and Tom yum.

The duck red curry came with a blast of flavour. It had a fragrant aroma, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The sweet and sour snapper was deep fried, and had a crispy surface, with a soft flesh.

The curry puff had a deep fried, crunchy dough which was pleasing to bite into. The filling was good, overall a good entree.

The Som Tom had a small variety of ingredients. There was no papaya in this dish and all carrots which made it really a carrot salad. Lots of boiled prawns too

The chicken satay was not bad, there was a plentiful amount of sauce, and the chicken was soft and flavourful.

Very unassuming name but one of the very best Thai Food experiences. All the dishes we ordered were extremely tasty. Full of flavour and taste.

The waitress was very cheerful and there was a passion about doing a good job. A very +ve experience.

Pretty enjoyed anything and everything that we ordered: B1 - Tom Yum Soup -K1 - Pad Thai -G2 - Pla Pad Prik [ Fillet ] option

They have a mains as well as small portion for most dishes, so it is convenient to order as per apetite.

Revisited with my Mother and in -laws and had the same flavorful experience. New dishes tried this time: A7 - Fried prawns D3 - Pud Prik, Stir fried chicken E1 - Chilli & Vegetable Seafood Combo F5 - Prawn Green Curry G3 - Garlic and Black Pepper Fish Fillet ( This comes as whole fish option as well )
