Golden Time Restaurant — Restaurant in Palmerston North

Was with a friend and we both ordered a soup, mine was chicken & sweet corn which was nice it arrived quite soon and my friend ordered spicy &sour seafood which was exceptionally slow to arrive so after asking it came almost 15min later than mine, but as soon as his soup arrived so did both main meals. I asked if my friends one could be kept hot until he’d had his soup which they agreed to. I ordered the Sizzling Cumin Lamb which was a bit disappointing as it was just lamb and onion with very little flavour, after my friend had finished his soup they brought back his main course of Stir Fried Scallops which was served on a cold plate and scallops were tough in fact we thought that they weren’t cooked properly. How come when asked to keep a dish hot that the plate it’s on is cold. I just don’t understand why so many restaurants insist on serving hot food on cold plates.

After a long absence, decided to have dinner with family there. Actually, it was a quick light lunch I had with 3 colleagues the previous month that I decided to come back for a full meal.

The food was not only good but the portions were huge compared with other Chinese restaurants. We had lemon fish, sweet & sour pork, combination fried rice, combination vegetables & deep fried mushrooms. Added some Yum Char dishes as they were available; not just during lunch time.

So good that I took 2 of my colleagues there for Yum Char the next day; which they thoroughly enjoyed. Not sure why they were not very busy like other Chinese restaurants that have Yum Char.

Another pus for this restaurant is that there is no surcharge for paywave & I was able to use my credit card to earn airpoints. They also didn't charge for takeaway containers for our leftovers; again unlike the other restaurants.

The lady who worked at the restaurant around 5:30pm to 6:30pm on 13 Dec 2023 Wednesday, her attitude was too horrible!!! When we asked for water, she answered badly:" Self service, you have to get the water by yourself!" We have been to that restaurant so many times, there was the other young lady very nice. But today that woman's attitude incredible BAD!!! The owner of the restaurant should check the camera how that woman 's attitude to the customer on that day!!!
