Went last night as a anniversary since we always wanted to try this place even when it changed and to start off, even though it was busy, the girl that served us (i cant remember her name) seemed bothered, kinda didnt sit right, showed us our table and walked very fast i was a bit slow..where we were seated was next to loud and obnoxious people..couldn't hear eachother over the music and them. Was a 45min wait on food but understandable as it was busy.
Moved inside when a table was free and was a bit better. Got our food and the pork bites, beautiful. Loaded wedges, also beautiful. Unfortunately with our burgers 1 fish, 1 double cheeseburger, wasn't that nice..the double cheese was dry..like mc Donald's meat patty dry..and the fish burger didn't taste right..we didn't say anything as we had another place to be, but shortly after arriving home I felt sick..we both unfortunately up chucked that dinner..
Maybe we will go back on a more quiet day and try again but for now yeah..na..
2 stars for the food, pork bites and wedges good, but burgers weren't great.
Drinks were really...
Read moreFirst time visiting and first impression wasn't the best. Booked on a Saturday night for a meal and drinks to celebrate my birthday. You don't get any service except being shown to our reserved table that already had people sitting at it who weren't happy about moving. We were confused because this place portrays itself as a family friendly restaurant and bar but by 9.30pm there were two toilet cubicles blocked with woman vomiting and a bar brawl that threw drunk men into other sitting patrons. It felt much more like a student nightclub to be honest. Paid $38 for the stuffed chicken meal that was so dry and stiff it was as if it had been cooked 3 times. It was served on potato mash and 3 green beans lol. Cocktails tasted like they had no alcohol and were a bit of a rip off at $18 each, they also took almost half an hour wait each time. Whilst ordering at the bar you have the air con ducting above you dripping water on your face too lol. Had a good dance to the outdoor music, but overall pretty average experience. Might try again for lunch......
Read moreWorst meal we've (myself & wife) ever had in Palmerston North, ever. Left the meal practically uneaten. Blue Cod tacos - a coupla pieces of flat bread with lettuce & a piece of fish and some mayo on each. Pork belly bites dry AF. Pork chop - $37 for a porkchop I'd buy two of at PNS for $12, plus a substandard salad with not-fresh-looking lettuce and two fried eggs that weren't cooked properly - still had snotty egg whites around the yolks. And the mushroom sauce - dunno what was in it but it sure as hell didn't taste like mushroom - I mean how friggin' hard is it team? Probably could have cooked it at home - and enjoyed it more - for $30 if even that. Spoke to the duty manager who was excellent to deal with but could only offer vouchers for "next time", well sorry but there will not be a next time. So... $110 for an acceptable G&T and a pork chop bone for my dog. On the whole, not a good experience, we won't be going back and won't be recommending the place to...
