EDIT: 7 months later my partner and I revisited because chicken and waffles are irresistible and we had appreciated the owners comments. Happy to say we were seated with menus and had awesome customer service from the ladies up the front. Meal was quick (chicken and waffles) even though they looked pretty busy for a Sunday morning. Happy to be pleasantly surprised 👍
OLD POST: Understandably we went in on a busy day for lunch, however the service was terrible.
We asked for a seat and were told we would be served. After 10 minutes I went up to the counter to order (because I guess they forgot about us?). Once we ordered (around 5 minutes later) we were told we would have to wait an extra 25 minutes (fine). We had to request for water and our utensils. After 30 minutes and watching people who ordered AFTER us get their meals, we just got up and left.
Our order was a chicken salad with fries. They couldn’t handle a chicken salad with fries.
They served the people next to us, got their orders at their seat and served them within 10 minutes.
What. The. Hell.
Not going back, don’t recommend you do either if they don’t like the look of...
Read moreDisappointing for the price paid. Ordered kids pancakes, which they didn't eat (what kid doesn't like pancakes!) due to the fact they were far too salty and tasted awful. The 'maple' syrup was more like molasses (thick and barely sweet). There were mushrooms on one of the plates so they had obviously been cooked on the same grill as savoury food and not cleaned prior to cooking (they even admitted it was probably due to cooking them on the same grill as the bacon but didn't apologise). I tried the pancakes myself and they left a salty taste in my mouth. They were also not served with anything, not even a piece of fruit, just 3 salty pancakes and thick syrup that my daughter couldn't stand the smell of. The rest of the meal was ok. Coffee was good. The staff didn't seem bothered that we didn't enjoy the meal and weren't interested in giving a discount for food we couldn't eat. I wouldn't return again, I would rather spend $50 on breakfast that we can...
Read morethe worst place to eat in Palmerston North? First indication was the cook playing with a dog outside and then right into the kitchen. 7a.m., 13 ° but all the big windows were opened. The food was unbelievably bad. The vege. breakfast was my choice. It was piled up on a plate that was a bit small. As to the components: a lump of blanched, unchopped spinach complete with stalks. Could not be chewed. :half an avocado, unripe and brown on the edges. :4 triangles of white toast bread, no grain option offered :half a cold tomato:half a mushroom which tasted of the griddle, yuck: 2 nicely cooked poached eggs but on top of the bread pile :2 small hash browns and hollandaise put over the food, not in a side dish. The coffee was OK. Overpriced even for well prepared food. The cost of the components also does not justify the cost. On a side note you had a choice of which music source you tuned into, one from kitchen or the restaurant. I won't be darkening...
