Start here! This is the place! Incredibly underrated. Trust me. Genuine staff, good vibes, great view, great crew, exceptional local and craft beer! I'm genuinely surprised. Limited signage, big impact. Been supporting locals, the community, and adventurers since 2008. 20+ local and signature beers on tap. Mulled wine and mulled ginger beer. Daily specials for Bahn Mi, Tacos, Steak, Burgers, Roast, etc. all with vegan vegetarian options. Busiest days are Wednesday (Steak night) and Thursday (Burger night) Quiet good vibe music, great view, and happy vibes feel. If it's busy, don't give up! You're not in QT to stress about the small things. The food is great, you won't be disappointed, but as a visitor, from here, do a lap of QT waterfront, finish at an Irish pub for a spice bag, guinness, and mulled wine. Seems to be the thing. Otherwise, grab an outside table early (3-4pm), start the heater, grab some blankets, settle in, enjoy the view and crew, and make the most of the daily special! Note: Pets outside only, no booster seat for kids, no takeaway beers. Limitless support though, just ask 🤙🏼

Man, you can't go wrong with cool places to go in Queenstown and ABC is definitely one of them. This was our first night in ZQN and as we were just staying down the road this was the first bar we stumbled into. It has such a cool, relaxed vibe. The service was always friendly and even though it was just a pit stop en route to see more of ZQN I decided a cheese and meat board a good beginning to the night out AND this didn't fail. I loved the choices and the addition of different jams/relish helped delivered on a great cheese board experience (is that a thing??) I can highly recommend 🤩 Zippy spam included: As some may know- ma little mate Zip had to stay back in Oz - but he still gets a guernsey in all my reviews (now thats a thing heh heh)

We were recommended this place by a friend and so glad we took her up on it. The staff are great whether you're a beer lover or you're only dabbling. My partner was able to do a deep dive with them while I resorted to my usual "I like beer that doesn't taste like beer" and we were both very happy with the advice and selection. In case you're curious, I went with the Ginger Bear and a sour. We were also there for taco Tuesday, a great deal as the tacos were tasty and pretty healthy. The vegetarian options were good. It's also by the water with a great view, but that's almost secondary to the great vibe and lovely staff. We went back a few times during our stay and took advantage of the outdoor seating when we could.

I work in town and today(25. Nov.) I pop in to Alta's with my partner during my lunch break because we both wanted to taste the famous steak from them.

When we ordered in the counter . The waitress stopped me in the middle of my request and told me I had to show her my ID because I look younger than 25. As a matter of fact, I'm 27 and I was wearing my working uniform with my company's logo on it. Even though I explained to her I was on my lunch break and that was the reason I only had my wallet with me. She insisted to ask us to leave the premise and to make it more insulting ,she said : only if you are with your parents. He (my partner)doesn't look like your dad . I had no idea if it's her duty to ask but the way we were told off : no smile and cold look. And to be specific, it happened at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. And we never asked any alcoholic drink at all.

Located in central queenstown in a popular holiday place . With all competitor around . I guess it's not a good image for locals or tourists if they just want a nice lunch meal and be told off to leave.

Very...

The place was nice with a good range of beers and food but our customer service was horrible, like worst I've had in years.

First we walk in and I go to the bar to ask if there are more stools and this grouchy POM tells me to go to the back of the line, when I say I'm looking for a stool he just rudely says 'first in best served'. 5 mins later another customer comes and gets the same rude response, the guy's girlfriend wants to leave. I line up and A french woman is upset cause one of this dudes mates jumps the queue. I wait for her to get served then the dudes like 'do you even want a beer'. Then he walks off and the guy at the till has to ask what I ordered. We then overhear him rudely telling someone they can't cook the steak how they requested.

Some very basic manners and customer service skills would...
