Visited Tuesday 13th May - Dinner Situated inside a pub Ordered: Sirloin 250g and Rib-eye 300g (both medium rare) with chips Both steaks were not cooked to our liking but it was still edible. More so towards medium and well done around the edges - feedback provided - even when they offered a replacement, we declined politely - we only push it back if it's not edible (like well done throughout) Both steaks were a little tough to slice apart Either tables were a little too high or the cushioned seats were a little too low, it made using the fork and knife a little out of space, but manageable since the cushioned seating area was very comfortable The manager (I think) credited us with one drink not chargeable The service was good and they came around a few times to us (and other tables) to check how our meals are going, etc It wasn't a busy night but at least it was a quiet one

My partner and I sat inside for a meal this evening. I ordered the Lamb Shanks and my partner got the Brazz Burger. We were both a bit disappointed in our meals. My lamb shank was quite small and bland and needed more sauce on the meat, it was quite disappointing considering the $42 cost. My partners burger was also quite bland and had a slight burnt taste. The service however was good quite fast and the restaurant atmosphere was very cozy. Overall enjoyed the restaurant itself but unfortunately we were very disappointed in the food taste and cost.

While Queenstown is know for being overpriced, was quite prepared for this. $42 for a "250gm" Ribeye and a small side of chips. That's it...no vegetable other than a dusting of crispy onion and a couple stems of.. something. Undercooked (ordered rare, got blue with the chew to match). Asked for some aoili for the chips too which didn't arrive. Only saving grace was the chips (more of them then the steak) and the prompt service (though turning up at 5pm on a Monday probably accounts for that) Won't be coming back, that's for sure

It was easy and quick to get reservations - it was literally just a phone call away and reservations for 6pm were sorted for 5 adults, a 3 year old, and a grizzly 6 month old. Even when we turned up half an hour earlier as said children were getting hungry, we were seated almost immediately.

There are menus located on the outside of the restaurant to tempt and tease into coming in. Of course, that was an easy choice as it was getting cold and the indoor fireplace was lit and ready by the time we sat down.

The waiter and waitress were also helpful and quick to get our orders and happy to comply with our numerous requests for side plates, condiments, and water top ups.

I ordered myself the salmon which was beautifully plated and Instagram-ready - foodies take note! The salmon was done slightly rare in the middle which meant tender and flavourful with every forkful. The rest of the family shared a steak and ribs combo platter which was enough for two. Ribs were delightfully soft and fell off the bone into a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Toilets were clean - a must for me with any restaurant experience - and the bill was handled discreetly and efficiently.

This is my second time dining here and I only regret not posting this review sooner.

Gorgeous restaurant, got a bit dark as the night progressed and it felt as though we're were having one of those dining-in-the-dark experience, but would definitely come back for the food again and wonderful service...

I just want to start off by saying the staff are beautiful and the drinks are great. I had a fantastic lunch one day and awesome drinks the same night. But following up I went for breakfast the next day and ordered the egg Benedict with mushrooms. This came out cold and I mean cold nothing was hot nor warm except for the hash brown that was kinda warm. I was starving so I ate it and didn’t think anything of it. I told the guy when I paid it was cold and I didn’t like it and he offered to get the manager to see if they can deduct the order from the bill which respectfully I declined because I didn’t want to make it out that I was trying to get a free meal. He then went on to say that a few items are pre made and heated due to short staff etc which I understand but the next day I fell sick with a viral tummy infection. This caused me to have high fever, diareha, nausea the works you name it, my remainder of my holiday was ruined. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place and everything but that for me just ruined everything. I’m back home now finally 5 days later and still recovering symptoms persist. And I don’t have Covid for anyone thinking it may be that I’ve done several tests and I know the difference and I’ve spoken to my doctor as soon as I arrived. Please speak to your chef and make sure no one else goes through this that’s all I ask. Two stars only because their lunch is amazing truly but the breakfast had me bed ridden. I’m so thankful I’m home you...

Visited with family on Friday evening after reading the reviews, was very busy so the food so slow, we accepted that. But when the food was served, my cousin who ordered the biggest 500g Angus rib eye was served a small piece of steak, so we asked for it to be corrected, however was told that they were happy to put it on right away, but it’d take 30 minutes as it is a big piece of steak.

Who cooks steak for 30 mins??

Nevermind. It was getting late so we took what was served. We then cut open the three steaks that were ordered at “medium” ... They were all well done. Tough, dry, and hard to chew. That’s what you get putting steak on the stove for 30 minutes!!!

Urgh. We ate, as we couldn’t afford to wait yet another 30 minutes or however long it would be, then took the bill, as we wanted to check and make sure the 500g Angus was not charged for. Then found that the 350g Rump that I’d ordered, showed up as a 300g Rump.

???

This places kitchen processes or management processes or whatever definitely needs an upgrade if they want to boast themselves as a steakhouse. As a place where many foreign tourists choose to visit in New Zealand, this meal really wasn’t up to the mark. My cousins who were visiting us for the first time felt very ripped off. New Zealand beef is exported and famous for its quality - this night didn’t help at all.

Staff were friendly, but nah. Definitely would not recommend, as it seems like a gamble whether you’d get a...
