I originally booked a different date but each timeslot requires a min of 2 ppl to have signed up. After back and forth emails, I just went to the office and rescheduled in person. They were super friendly and switched my reservation without hassles. My appt was for a 6-line at 9:40am. I decided to hike up Tiki trail in the morning to catch the sunrise. It took me a little under 1 hour. However the morning chill was intolerable with my wet sweat. I arrived 15 min early before my designated timeslot and was shivering. I told them I wish I bundled up more and they have a whole closet of extra jackets in different sizes. THIS WAS A GODSEND. I know diffinitively that I would've been miserable without it. After checking in, which included filling out a waiver, they were a little late to get started. My group included me and another person. I enjoyed the small group setting as there was less waiting to get buckled in and more intimate time with the guides. They strapped us in and I felt informed and safe along the whole journey. I was able to strap my action camera to my harness. Between each of the lines, there's some time fillers on their ecological impact and history about NZ. The actual zip lines felt short and not very fast. Line 4 had an awesome view and line 6 was the longest/fastest. As an adrenaline junkie, this set up does not hit the spot. There are some tricks you could do to spice it up (backwards drop, flip, etc) but the length and speed of just doesn't cut it. It felt like a glide and not a zip. Shout-out to my guides, Nada and Freyda, for being informative and awesome at...
Read moreToday my daughter and I tried this zip line that she talked me into. I was really hesitant at first but both McKenzie and Iona were the consummate professionals and put me at ease. Their knowledge of the area and environment was really great, they really care about the planet showing all different aspects of the impact we're having and the things we can do to mitigate certain things we do but without being preachy. Myself being the barbarian that I am didn't care for the story too much but it was blended nicely with how beautiful this place is that I seemed to take it in anyway. The rides are super fun and the methods and systems they used were virtually fail safe, anything short of a volcanic eruption is the only thing that could cause any issues. The "Trust Fall" was the scariest ride for me but terrific nonetheless. Couple of things you need to consider is the 20 min trek down through the forest to get to the 6th run. This can be a bit slippery and need to be slightly agile to do it though they supply ski poles to help if you need, also were told of another mode of transport if needed. The other thing is you need to buy a gondola ticket to get up, you zip line all the way back down and there are no one way gondola tickets. The girls give you a stamp to get a run back up and then the return ticket you can use to get back down. Still a ticket purchase nonetheless. Other than that, this is a blast and will be a "go to" each trip I do annually. Thanks McKenzie and Iona, you made our holiday...
Read moreThe guides are very informative, fun, and vibrant! They made sure we had fun. The challenges were a good way to entice the participants to really enjoy the activity. Additionally, the breathtaking views of Queenstown from the ziplines added an unforgettable thrill to the adventure. The equipment was top-notch and safety protocols were clearly explained, which made us feel secure throughout the experience. It was a perfect blend of adrenaline and natural beauty, making it a must-do for anyone visiting the area.
However, it was somewhat challenging to find the location. I spent 30 minutes walking around trying to locate the meeting point. Although there was information on the booking site and website about where to meet, I found it was not very clear. It would be helpful if the directions were more specific. For example, it could state that right after you exit the gondola, you should turn left immediately, avoiding the door directly in front of the first exit.
Additionally, it should be clearly stated that only a one-way gondola ride is necessary, not a return trip. While this might seem obvious to some, as a tourist managing multiple bookings, details like this can easily be overlooked. Explicitly mentioning this can prevent confusion and assumptions. Unfortunately, I purchased a return ticket, not realizing it wasn’t needed. Clear communication can help ensure all guests are...
