1st- to the previous comment leaver who almost mislead me, by calling normal place normal food as a Chinese food eater?- I can say, he or she is just insane or have no taste. I am Chinese, living long enough and eating enough - and I tried two times in this restaurant with a white man, food here is what u can only have in high class GOOD restaurant in big city like shanghai, it keeps the local taste AND with creation strongly recommend for the pork and beef and fried rice and pure rice is much much better than the top 1 rated in queenstown And the service is great, not “normal “.
If there is sth have to complain a little bit , is - for non-Chinese ppl, they come to eat, wishing to feel more in China- the environment is too not Chinese.. doesn’t have the atmosphere.. for local Chinese students or visitors, since it is so far away fm china, we might expect some family feeling ... so still hope it is more Chinese .. maybe it’s positioning to be more western style (high class ), then it’s too bright, and the row next to a blue wall- fm outside , looking like cheap...

We ordered traditional beef noodles, dumplings and scallion pancakes. Everything was delicious! There are condiments on each table, chili oil included.🌶 Perfect, as we love spicy soup/dip. The menu is both in English and Chinese complete with photos, relatively easy to order at the counter. While you’re at it, grab a drink by the fridge and pay in one go. 😅 Good to see they have sugar-free choices of drink too. The soup spoons, small bowls (for condiments) and chopsticks are at the far end of the restaurant. It’s like fast-food Chinese style, was surprised that our orders were served really quick! 😄 We came in hungry, and came out very full. The staff and chef were nice and friendly. If you are craving for noodles that is fresh, handmade, & springy to touch, this is the place to go if...
Read moreif i could give this place a lower review, I would. this was easily the worst chinese food I have ever had. everything we ordered was cold and the service sucked!!! there was meat in the cheese dumplings (which was a vegetarian option) and the sesame noodles tasted like a cold jar of peanut butter. we went early in the night and we were the only people in the restaurant. they didnt come to check on us once and when i spoke to our server about it, she said she was "busy." i know servers dont work off tips in NZ but i have never been to a restaurant that cared less about their customers. we were super upset with the entire experience and literally had to go get another meal after we left. i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, dont waste...
