Hands down the best pastry in the whole area for me !I honestly don’t mind driving all the way from Queenstown once a month or twice just to stock up and fill my freezer — that’s how good it is. From the perfectly baked baguette to the classic pain au chocolat and the indulgent hazelnut pain au chocolat, everything is on another level (exactly what I think a real pastry should be.)These three are always on my must-buy list, no exceptions! Yes, some people might think the price is a little higher than average, but every single bite proves it’s worth every penny. You know exactly what you’re getting — you can taste the quality of the ingredients and the love that goes into every delicate layer. Simply unforgettable. Can’t wait to drive there again...

Best bakery in Queenstown or maybe South NZ. Chanced upon this bakery while we were buying coffee next door. We got the signature hazelnut pain au chocolat ($11) and a canele ($5). Both were quite pricey tbh BUT we were blown away by the quality of the pastries. The canele especially, might just be the best we’ve ever had, period. It’s crusty outside and fluffy chewy inside, with a burnt caramel vanilla aroma - absolutely worth trying. The pain au chocolat was really good too and not too sweet. Wish it was slightly more buttery however. We were so impressed we went back again the next day, tried other items and all of them tasted amazing. Must visit.

We came here everyday we were in Wānaka and I will definitely be thinking about Charlie’s Deli once I’m back in the states. They have daily sandwiches which are DELICIOUS, but they sell out quickly so make sure to grab one early. Their baguettes are fresh and they have plenty of meat and cheese selections, our favorite was the Jamon. I think my new favorite cheese is the spicy blue cheese they have. We also picked up foie gras a couple of times and loved it. They have a small bench you can sit outside or take your meal to the lake. Price is very reasonable depending on what you get. There’s a wine store you can stop by around the corner to pair with your charcuterie. We absolutely love...
