Charlie Brown Crepes — Restaurant in South Island

We passed by Charlie Brown Crepes during our stay in Wanaka. This is a French crepe and galette specialist that represents part of the thriving Food Truck scene on Brownston Street in the town centre.

During our visit we shared a Signature Veggie Galette (NZ$15) that was very good. We enjoyed watching them make the pancake and prepare it with generous portions of fresh goat cheese, French cheese tomatoes, walnuts, basil, honey and a bit of olive oil.

The galette was made well and tasted delicious, as good as anything we've had since our last trip to France. We also found their coffee to be bold and flavourful, a nice cup of black.

Overall, well done to the Charlie Brown team. We would likely return on a regular basis for crepes and more galettes if we lived...

It’s a little crepe treasure across the street from bookstore and movie theater. The line gets long and if you are someone who is expecting McDonalds speed - please tame your expectations but if you are expecting fresh delicious crepes made carefully balanced and you are willing to wait for them - this place is for you. The staff is friendly and cares about their customers. Many will take away vs waiting for an outdoor seat. The crepes are very filling and you can completely customize them. Google Reviews do work ! We checked out Charlie Brown and had a crepe last night and it was outstanding. Normally we share deserts however this time it was too good to share! The next morning we had to return for 2 more. Hard to get an authentic an French crepe and to get one here was fantastic.

We had one savoury and one sweet and both above a 10. We went next door to Charlie’s Deli and spoke to the owner to congratulate him on his offerings. It was great to pickup a sandwich for lunch too
