Very disappointed regular here. 8 years local in Queenstown and been going here every week or two for brunch but probably not anymore.
Ordered 4 espresso shots in short glass with ice cubes and a dash, very little water (like cold 4 shots of espresso) - the Asian lady was trying to educate me about coffee that what I want is Iced Americano. I used to run restaurants and cafes previously and I didn't want Iced Americano. Of course my coffee came in long glass with full water and lots of ice just how she interpreted my order the way she wanted.
FOUND HAIR IN SALAD. Me and my partner removed it and thought that's fine, small mistakes can happen.
FOUND HAIR AGAIN IN TROPICAL SMOOTHIE. We decided to tell the staff - we didn't wanted refund or any compensation, we wanted to just let them know.
The response from staff was quite unbelievable, as if I brought troubles to her. (Same Asian lady) Arrogant, unapologetic, it was obvious the staff wanted to leave and not deal with the feedback we provided.
Should have asked for manager or supervisor straight away. If the management or owner is seeing this comment, please consider providing hair nets to the kitchen staff and provide more training on Customer Service to the lady mentioned.
What a shame and...
Read moreHonestly cannot believe the low stars this place is getting. Being in the cafe business myself, and having been to cafes all over the world, this place stands out!!
Got the Avocado Smash with crispy potatoes, bacon, poached eggs and it was absolutely to die for!! If I had to pick out anything I would like to see improved, the avocado seemed a bit too much like guacamole in the texture. I would have liked to see it a bit more like a smash with some texture but that’s just an oppinion.
People have commented that it’s way over priced and having again been all over Melbourne, Queenstown, Te Anau, Auckland and Wanaka, it is not a penny off from any other cafe. It bothers me when people complain about food prices and have no idea of what it takes to run a cafe and continue to push out incredible food and coffee. Cafes run of such incredibly small margins but you can’t win em all I guess.
Overall, this was by far a top 3 breakfast that we had on our trip and eating was all we did really. ;-) I would give this place 6...
Read moreMoinho cafe, recently established in Queenstown’s Frankton area, is an extension of the renowned Padaria do Moinho bakery founded in Cuiabá. The Queenstown branch continues the tradition of quality artisanal baking, offering a tempting range of breads, cakes, and savory treats in a relaxed, welcoming café setting. The menu blends Brazilian and South American flavors with New Zealand café classics and caters to various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Portions are generous-one cheese scone was enough for two-and the cabinet food looks appealing. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the cappuccino we had was well made. The café’s casual, family-friendly atmosphere makes it a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or a relaxed lunch. Our experience was enhanced by the clean premises and reasonable prices. Moinho cafe stands out for its fresh, quality baked goods, friendly service, and unique Brazilian flair, making it a welcome addition to...
