Katsubi Albany — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

Horrible service. It was my first time there so I didn't know how to order because there are queues in the same restaurant in several places together with many different food choices, it was frustrating enough to see so many choices there, but the Korean girls behind the counter made it even more frustrating, first girl yelled at me which size I wanted after I asked her how to order, then before I could answer her, she turned herself to serve another customer already and asked another girl to serve me who gave me a small number, I thought I need to pay first then order then I went to cashier but she called me back and told me to choose something first, I told her I want only to try some tempera she looked at me like I was a freak and explained me very impatiently that I could chooose bowel size then food-- I got rice and some tofu ball, then when I asked to pick some fried tofu she was super angry scream at me and said I could choose only one hot food , I told her I would pay for it she then picked up the tofu and threw the tong away heavily like I made her did some extra work. At the cashier when I asked to add a prawn tempera, the cashier again looked very unhappy because she had to do some extra work. But, during all this time the white woman behind me got completely different service, the girls smiled at her and talked to her patiently and even apologized to her that I ordered one more tempera!!! Ridiculous racist staffs!!! Would never come back to that...

Food and staff here used to be decent. I would have given it easy 4 to 5 star but I can see that the years have done a number on his place. Understandbly price went up but quality of the food dropped so much. I got a pitiful amount of teriyaki chicken and salad didnt taste all that fresh. The only thing I found in abundance was the rice, basically bowl of rice 70% filled up with little bits of topping here and there as filler. What happened to this place? It used to serve good food. And service isn't what it used to be. Theres 2 female employees at front counter doing their best while the guy in charge with glasses can be seen in the kitchen glaring daggers at then while shouting at the employees for not working faster when he's not doing anything. I really felt bad for the employees who are probably some poor working holiday students being worked to the bone like slaves because they have no other places they can seek employement due to the language barrier.

Overall, I would not advise eating at Katsubi here. Its far too overpriced and all you get is a bowl full of rice which you probably won't be able to finish. You'll feel nothing but sour taste in your mouth as you ponder atthe realization that you paid so much money but got so little satisfaction out of the meal you got served, but rest assured thats probably better than feeling sick and haphazardly searching for the nearest bathroom. Did I mention the salad tasted a little...

A seriously disappointing experience with a food outlet that used to be great. You can see that the prices have seriously sky rocketed and the Shrink Flation has got into you food serving - if I wanted to eat about 75 to 80 % rice, I would have gone to a supermarket and bought rice to cook at home.

The whole meal experience was extremely disappointing. the bowl looked like a small swimming pool at the bottom with all the liquid below the rice, your salads were definitely very far from fresh and the meats were definitely not very fresh and quite unpleasant to eat. I through 4/5 the of my meal away - that's how disappointed I was.

It's amazing that your staff definitely don't give 2 hoots about customer service, please try training your staff or get a professional group in to train your staff, their overall attitude and customer services "sucks"
