Was looking forward to the Sunday Lunch as there are mostly good reviews but sadly it was very disappointing, the place was almost empty just a few people for a Sunday meal or drink, the reception was warm and friendly drinks were served promptly and I gotta say the Ale was pleasant tasty and clear, we ordered 4 Sunday Lunches and this is where it all went wrong, I only had two maybe three sips of beer then out came the meals, well presented warm and portion size fair but for goodness sake give us a chance to get settled, I know we were the only people there but did you have to rush us to eat our meals, it weren’t as though you had loads of people waiting for tables, I’m used to dinning, enjoying the company, savouring the beer and would have enjoyed the chance of selecting a bottle of wine to compliment the afternoon, instead of that 4 meals were thrust upon us straight from the warming oven, and my meat although looked appetising was a third fat I did complain and was offered a drink as compensation which I suppose is fair but to be honest a reduction of 25% from the total bill would have been more in line Think on Galbraith’s, it’s not just about eating and drinking, maybe a lesson in dinning out and enjoying the ambiance might...
Read moreHad a meal here approx 1 month ago and food was great. Came back last night and the menu had changed, we ordered 2 sirloin steaks and the fish tacos. After last night I wouldn't eat there again. The so called 250g cut of sirloin was almost double and wasn't sirloin yet a rectangle cube of rump or a worse cut. Requested both to be cooked medium rare, to which both came out rate and cut in half so even if we wanted it chucked in the pan for a minute longer it would have ended up worse. Now you would think rare sirloin would be nice and tender and not chewing on ya dogs ol chew toy. Well somehow they managed that and neither of us could chew a tiny piece of meat till we could swallow it. It was unedible and the fish tacowas basically tinned pineapple and its juice with burnt grilled fish.
Wondering if the kitchen are taste testing the ale as also last night someone forgot to add beef into the beef lasagne which came out to a...
Read moreThe food and drinks at galbraiths was really good. I went there with a large party for someones leaving lunch and it was my first time there. Its a classic looking british pub, pleanty of seating both inside and outside while we were there. They did cater for some dietaries as some people in our group had specific requirements, but based on the feedback some of our group had, one of the staff members was kinda hostile and made our guys feel like they werent wanted there. The staff member in question even passed comment about how we should leave as part of the convo we were having about getting another round here or at the office. Which is very much not the attitude/vibe we wanted. Soured the experience for a fair bit of our group. I myself had a great time, but i would be remiss if i didnt factor this in to my review. If youre going as like one or two people, this place is great. Just dont go in groups with...
