Nate’s Plaice — Restaurant in Waitematā

Absolutely delicious fish and chips - not your usual greasy takeaway joint - fish is sublimely fresh and everything is cooked fresh to order! Even the fish is battered upon ordering - no shortcuts taken here! We ordered a fish and chips box which was quite a reasonable portion and includes homemade coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce. As stated fish was delicious and fresh and chips were well cooked and not oily We also tried the specials of the day - a prawn po boy which was also delicious (tasty, fresh prawns) as well as prawn toast. Was a delicious take on a Chinese classic. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and even better weren’t left with that greasy taste that often comes after eating fried food Highly recommend visiting and we will be back

Second round at Nates. Nates does the most amazing Hot Dogs, a truely pleasurable experience . Soooooo Good! Yum Yum! 😋

During my previous visit, I thoroughly enjoyed my two hot dogs,, so much so, I returned a couple of times for more Hot Dogs, but they were closed 😲😱

Today I ordered one not two Hot Dogs, unfortunately, and opted for the Terakihi fish. It did not knock my socks off 😏While it was reasonably okay, I found it lacking in certain areas.

Specifically, some of the batter adhered to the wrapping paper, resulting in a partially soggy texture. Additionally, I felt that the fish could have been more tender and succulent.

Next time I'll stick to Hot Dogs on sticks 😋 Great customer service and I love the authentic Kiwi classics with a modern twist concept 👌

Best Fish and Chip shop...

I still remember coming here on a wet and cloudy Friday afternoon with my sister after work. We were hungry, needed to eat fish as Catholics do on Fridays and we searched on Google to find Nate's Place nearby.

Wow. First time here. We were greeted warmly by friendly staff who made us feel welcome. We asked a few questions and decided to try the different options on the menu.

We didn't wait long and when we took a bite of their food, it was delicious, rich and excellent quality. Not only the food but also customer service and atmosphere.

It was so good that we had to get a takeaway for our family to try at home to experience this quality food.

Thank you for having us. Definitely recommend this place and will come again...
