I used to come to this Cuba Street store regularly, but after tonight's experience, I will be choosing a different Burger Fuel location from now on.
If you choose to eat at this BurgerFuel Cuba Street store, please double-check your orders, especially if you have a gluten intolerance. I ordered takeaway tonight, specifically mentioning that I have a gluten allergy and requested a gluten-free bun with my order. When I returned home to eat, I realized they didn't give me a gluten-free bun. If I had eaten that burger, it would have made me severely sick. Once I noticed that it wasn't a gluten-free burger, I decided to walk back down to the store (with the burger) only to be told, 'It's a gluten-free bun,' even after I showed them that it wasn't. At this point, I felt like I was being called a liar.
I'll give them credit for making me a new burger that was gluten-free, but not for the lousy apology I received afterwards. I'll take my money elsewhere that realize the importance of people's different...
Read moreOne good thing about being the gopher on a project is you get to organise dinner for everyone during the after hours work. Enter Burger Fuel. I had around 10 people to feed, and because NO ONE READS THEIR EMAILS I had to order the day before. I rang to check and was told no problems. So I ordered online. Then I realised I'd missed an order so rang again and was told no worries. So ordered again online. It wasn't me picking up the order - once again not a worry. The team there gave me one less thing to worry about, and cooked up a great feed. Everyone got what they ordered, and everyone was well fed, and happy. I highly recommend the lemon Aioli with the Spud Fries, and I really appreciate how easy it was to order such a big feed at the 11th hour. Great bunch at...
Read moreAn interesting car-themed burger/fries/shake chain. Bonus marks for having vegan soy shakes with soy ice cream. Unfortunately, none of the burgers are vegan, though the V-Dub Veggie can have items removed to make it vegan (but they don't give you any discount for this, or offer to swap them for vegan extras at no cost). Other useful knowledge for group dining - they can make some burgers halal on request The kumara fries are tasty. Maybe come here for the shake and fries, and grab a vegan tofu bun across the road at Midnight Espresso instead if you're vegan and on a budget. A good place to meet if you're with a mixed veg/nonveg group, though the ambience doesn't encourage...
