I recently had dinner at  Chimichurri Argentinian BBQ, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. This restaurant offers an authentic taste of Argentina BBQ. The experience began with a delightful selection of empanadas and an antipasto plate. The empanadas were perfectly crispy and filled with flavourful ingredients, while the antipasto plate was a medley of cured meats, cheeses, and olives.

As we moved on to the first meat course, which included chorizo, sweetbreads, and black pudding, I was already impressed by the quality and flavours of the dishes. The chorizo was wonderfully seasoned and had just the right amount of spice, while the sweetbreads were rich and succulent.

The vegetable course was a pleasant surprise, offering a refreshing balance to the meat-centric menu. The salad was fresh and crisp, the pumpkin and sweet potato were perfectly roasted, and the delicious chili added a delightful kick of flavour.

Of course, the highlight of the evening was the beef course. Argentina is renowned for its beef, and Chimichurri did not disappoint. The beef was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavour. It truly embodied the essence of Argentinian cuisine, and it's an experience that every meat lover should savour.

Throughout the evening, Chef Javier was actively involved, making sure everything was to our satisfaction. His warm and friendly demeanour added a personal touch. The service, in general, was outstanding, with attentive waiter who was eager to make our experience memorable. They have vegetarian offerings, but I will probably never try that.

In conclusion, Chimichurri Argentinian BBQ offers a top-notch experience.  I can't recommend this...

We are an Argentinian family of four who have been looking forward to trying this place for a while now. We finally got to go on a Sunday lunchtime. On arrival, the place looked nice but very noisy but again, we were hoping to be delighted by Argentinian food. The first thing my husband ordered was a Fernet with coca-cola. It arrived in a water-sized glass (the samll kind) and it hardly had any gas. It was made at a 80/20 ratio approx (fernet being the highest ratio). We asked if we could get more coke and they brought another glass with no gas again. The Argentinian waiter here acknowledged that it wasn't well prepared and went back to prepare one herself which we appreciated. It was a bit better but the coca-cola still had no gas. Then the food arrived. We ordered 6 empanadas (3 beef, 2 ham and cheese and 1 humita). These were good overall although the beef empanada was quite heavy on olives and the humita was not creamy at all. The biggest let down was ordering Milanesa Napolitana to find out that they had no beef milanesa and were offering chicken one. The crumb on it was coming all off as soon as I would cut on it, it was loose and lumpy. The Sangui Tucumano also had chicken milanesa rather than beef. All in all, not the experience we were hoping for. Our hope was to come soon again for the asado night, but I don't think we will...

We recently dined at Chimichurri on one of their new asado nights. It was amazing. The service is friendly, passionate, and engaged. Every dish was explained, and the chef made recommendations and was more than happy to engage in conversation whenever we had questions. The tour of the kitchen was special, and the giant barbecue with stacked glowing coals was wondrous to behold.

The variety of the food was exciting. The quality of the cook was fantastic: the meat dishes were juicy and full of flavour. Cooked simply but expertly with just salt and fire, we enjoyed the delicious traditional barbecue flavours.

Everything was yummy, but the blood sausage is particularly noteworthy. The chef proudly explained they made it themselves, and wow, is it good! Our table also loved the picanha, which was juicy and tender.

After we finished, the chef brought us two takeaway boxes with extra portions of the items we liked the most. We felt well taken care of

I highly recommend the asado evening for a night full of expertly prepared meat, warm staff, and a memorable experience. We will...

This is a photo of the "regular" take-away coffee size, and cost $6.40. Was honestly not sure if this was serious or if we accidentally received a small sizing - nonetheless, will never return based on this. A further note that this wasn't even quality coffee - a distinct burnt/bitter flavour. Just a reply to Javier's response: your pricing is absolutely not fair, and this isn't a "rant" online. Don't be arrogant, it exposes your ignorance. A walk through Wellington will easily bring you across numerous cafes with better pricing and larger sizing. I can even provide examples. This isn't an attack on the service of your staff. In fact, it was for that specific reason we opted not to raise this at the time; your staff are just doing as you advise. I assume from your defensive reply that this sits squarely in your lap. Don't blame patrons when they aren't happy with what you offer. Reflect on the feedback you receive, of which I note your pricing is commonly flagged as unreasonable and steep, and adjust if you can or else wear the negative feedback with dignity.

This place used to be the Brooklyn deli and has now changed to Chimichurri, an Argentinian cafe. A mix of NZ classic breakfasts and Argentinian style. Really nice sandwiches with fries on the menu which we came for. I exchanged half of mine with half of my partner’s. We chose the Sangui Tucumano and the Lomito Cordobes.! A little bit more sauce on the Milanese as well as the fries would have been awesome, but that was my taste. Good portion, you won’t leave hungry! Cozy and spacious, could be a good place to do some work as well while having a cup of coffee. Some Latin American background music would have topped it for me; but can’t recall there was any music at all? Many other items on the menu had my interest so would definitely like to come back for the empanadas, Milanesa Napoletana, polenta Porteña, flan mixto & another sandwich - the Bondiolita al limón or Choripán. Gracias, nos vemos! 👋
