Le Moulin Bakery is a true treasure in Wellington, and my visit left me thoroughly impressed. This spot has something for everyone, but there are a few standouts that deserve a special mention.
First and foremost, the steak and cheese pies are simply to die for. The pastry is golden and flaky, perfectly encasing a rich, savoury filling that strikes the ideal balance between tender steak and gooey, flavourful cheese. It’s comfort food elevated to an art form.
The sausage rolls were also excellent. Generously filled with a well-seasoned mixture and wrapped in buttery, light pastry, they hit all the right notes. They were satisfying without being overly heavy, making them a great snack or light meal.
The baguette was nothing short of amazing. With its crisp crust and soft, airy interior, it transported me straight to France with every bite. It’s the kind of bread that needs nothing more than a slather of butter to shine, though it would be equally delightful with any number of toppings.
Finally, the pastries were an absolute delight. Le Moulin’s selection is diverse, and each pastry I tried was perfectly balanced in flavour and texture. From the delicate layers of a croissant to the luscious fillings of tarts and danishes, it’s clear that the bakers here are masters of their craft.
Le Moulin Bakery is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality baked goods and savoury delights. Whether you’re after a hearty pie, a fresh baguette, or a perfectly crafted pastry, you won’t leave disappointed. Highly...

She placed what I needed into a box and telling me she trusted me to come pay it before the shop closed let me have the pastries... As I stood there in shocked she hurried me on telling me not be late for my tea!. I did go back and pay her BUT it amazes me that there are still people who are kind trusting and just thoughtful...Thank you my dear! . Yet another reason why I love New Zealand and...
Read moreLe moulin bakery is the very definition of baked goods. Upon arriving at the unassuming bakery, I was met with a wash of heavenly aromatic goodness, evidently originating from the baked goods. This same aroma aroused the entire neighbourhood, drawing in crowds of customers at peak time, like a horde of hungry wolves. I don't blame them, the baked goods are simply fantastic, and would satisfy even the most pretentious of baked goods connoisseurs. I particularly enjoyed "star", and the hot cross buns - which were both crossy, and bunny. Le moulin bakery is similar to the film "The great dictator", without the dictator. Simply...
