La lancha is a great place if you're looking for a budget friendly but yet good quality food. It actually attracts local tourists so the set-up of the restaurant itself is leaning towards the local tourists and its culture, such as; loud live music band that you can barely hear your company talking and so unbearable (I guess they played it during weekends), local music playing in the background (most of the time very loud and sometimes they are nice music), some metal rock songs which can be really sharp to your ears and some foreign music as well that is nice to hear sometimes. We requested many times to lower it down which they don't mind either and is very nice of them.
Local vendors always pass by from different ages (from 5 years old to elderly age) trying to sell you products and one thing we very much like are the cats hanging around asking for food (so adorable and we always give them something every time we eat in La Lancha).
The amount of food (1 order) 2 years ago was quite big for a small person but now it changed. We always ordered the food that is cooked and I suggest not to eat salads but instead ask them to cook it for you for a better stomach and safety. Waiter can be so late that sometimes your food gets cold, but just a little bit push and patience to remind them your order.
Over all La Lancha is quite unique from a nicas point of view. It has a lot of cheap options of meals and drinks, and friendly waiters which we made friends with over the years. It's been one of our top 10 favorite restaurants in San Juan Del Sur and is still using its service.
It's the perfect place to go to during the quiet times of the week except weekends, enjoy the fresh breeze as it's a little bit far from the drainage, watch the beautiful sunset and pelicans diving into the water for fish.
If you're a budget traveler and looking for a good quality of food, I recommend La Lancha and enjoy!
Safe travels and...

Read moreI love this place in one way to tell if it's a good value is to poke your head in and realize that most of the clientele is local. So many of the restaurants here are for tourists. So this is one of my indicators. Also, I do not eat meat so fresh seafood is very important to me. If the servers cannot understand you they will go out of their way to communicate with you in Spanglish. They're wonderful. And you won't get a better Seafood meal with a fantastic View at a better price then you will...
