Bad service, high prices, doesn't worth it.

After forgetting the juices - 20 minutes waiting, no sorry, no smile - I have to say that the waiter was wether in a bad mood wether she has no clue in what consists her job. The place was not crowded, only two tables, mine and one other with a single man.

To be honest the juices were very good (but it doesn't excuse the rest...). I ordered a Blue Cheese Burger. After had 3 bites of it I was looking for the blue cheese. I asked the waiter " Where is the blue cheese ? - ok I'm going to ask in kitchen" _ "Ok so yes they forgot the blue cheese".

Just to be clear I ordered a BLUE CHEESE burger, without blue cheese, that's a concept.

The waiter brought me blue cheese on a plate, apart from the burger. She was not surprised, not sorry (is it commun to "forget" blue cheese which is an expensive product here ? 🤔). I guess the majority of customers don't notice it - bad luck I am French 🇫🇷🧀❤️

So I asked the waiter to go to the kitchen in order to have a real Blue Cheese burger and not some blue cheese apart. 5 minutes later I received my burger in a takeaway package, with my last french fries, and the blue cheese inside just put like this. Everything was cold, I felt so disrespected to receive this in a bag with not even a new burger, just the rest. It was like "take it and go".

Don't go there they don't have any respect...

Excellent team. Excellent coffee. Excellent food. - what more could I want 😁

Love this place! Excellent coffee and great food. Their Nica Breakfast is my favorite. Every restaurant in town does some version of the Nica breakfast but I like Tostaderia’s version best.

The staff is wonderful too. Stefani, Alan, Robert and Crystal are always so kind and helpful. They remembered who I was after just one visit. And they know exactly how I like my coffee. This is quite special because I’m SUPER particular about my coffee order. So whenever I arrive and ask for coffee they already know exactly what I want.

A few other amenities to note: (1) it’s right across the street from the beach (2) they have good internet for you digital nomads (3) the atmosphere is versatile, meaning there’s an area with a view if the beach which is more social and then in the back there is an inner courtyard garden area which is quieter and better for working online. (4) finally they have a bakery where you can buy fresh homemade bread. It’s the best place to buy bread in town.

Thank you Pablo, Stefani, Alan, Robert and Crystal for such a warm welcome...

This place leave a great mark to our hearts. We love the food, drinks either from coffee, hot chocolate, or smoothies and especially the waiters and waitresses. One of our top 5 favorite restaurants in SJDS town when we need peace, tranquil music, fresh air away from busy road and drainage, and the smell of fresh baked breads. It's our favorite little oasis as well in terms of working on your laptop with at least $12 to $15 dollar purchase per person per meal.

The price can be a bit pricey but it depends on your taste and your budget - BUT, they're worth it and you'll surely love it.

Local staff are very friendly, welcoming and so polite that every time we go back there, we just feel like visiting a family or relatives. It's always our number one to-go for brunch when we are in town all day.

I highly recommend La Tostaderia with it's great taste of soft music such as jazz, RNB, Bossa Nova type (non-metallic ones and not noisy), great great food, good quailty of coffee, healthy smoothies, and...

It was my first visit to San Juan del Sur, so I was expecting higher prices for breakfast. I was looking for local comedors, and passed La Tostaderia. It looked inviting, so I ventured in and grabbed a table. It was about 8am, so it was getting busy. Service was quick, he brought me a huge cup of coffee and took my order of Desayuno tipico. The price was triple what a tipico costs in a local spot. What I received was a huge plate of beautiful breakfast. It was a Nicaraguan breakfast - Gallo Pinto, queso, eggs and fried plantains (maduros). It was elevated to another level. The cheese was coated and fried, it was a next level version of queso Frito. The eggs, maduros, and Gallo Pinto were extra good, and to top it off, there was a heart shaped slice of toasted french bread drenched in butter, a slice of avocado, and a small dish of tangy pico de Gallo. Worth every penny.

Breakfast in the morning on the street just across the boardwalk is already a pleasing thought. But to be placed in a historic building ( old train station), with chemex coffee maker and quality food and service does improve the moment. It is an economical solution. It is a good environment to conduct internet browsing. And Tostaderia has 3 means to enter on the street side, each with a view that is much better than the four walls of my windowless apartment. The service was excellent, and deserved of the 20% tip that may help nicaragüenses get above absolute poverty to which many could experience.

Came for a quick stop to get a smoothie. But was very disappointed. 3$ for a fruit smoothie with a lot of ice, and as it was not blended completely smooth you got small chunks of ice and seeds in every sip. They keep the fruits for the smoothies 'portion-packed' in the freezer so with frozen fruit, no need to use so much ice (other than to dilute the smoothie)... Service was okey. Can't say anything about the coffee which I guess is their go to thing.
