We chose this hotel because it was absolute beachfront and in a convenient location right in town in San Juan del Sur. Also, with only 3 rooms available it seemed like a good choice from a covid social distancing perspective.||From their Facebook page we tried to get onto their website to see details about the accommodation, but the website didn’t seem to be working. We instead emailed them to arrange the booking. They weren’t the quickest to respond, but we did get a response within 24 hours. The email correspondence was ok, but they did leave out details such as where to go to check in and whether breakfast was included (we had to ask for those details specifically in follow up emails). In the email correspondence they said we were booked into their system, and we were provided confirmation on the Wednesday night for a Saturday booking.||However when Saturday came around the person at reception told us that she hadn’t been informed of our booking and that they didn’t have a room available for us. Apparently 2 of the rooms were already filled and the third one had an issue with the bathroom that wouldn’t be able to be fixed until Monday. This was less than ideal as it was a busy weekend and with only one night booked there we spent a fair chunk of our time that should have been relaxing on our trip instead scrambling to find alternative accommodation. They did attempt to help us find alternative accommodation (but their alternative options weren’t options that we were comfortable with). We requested a meal and transport to our alternative accommodation as compensation for the inconvenience they did provide that. We can’t given them any more than 3 stars as it was quite unprofessional that they lost our booking in the first place and they didn’t have contingency plans in place for mistakes like this, however the staff were very nice and did try their best and we were compensated for the...
Read moreI first went 5 years ago and it was very different.
The layout of the restaurant changed and it’s really not for the best. It totally kill the vibe of the restaurant. Now it looks like any other restaurant on the beach of SanJuanDelSur. Bathroom are just like in the middle of the restaurant it’s a bit akward, the super long bar is not a nice place to chill since its over crowded by employee that are just talking instead of serving client. The service starts to be really bad. My table was never cleaned, I was full of sand and piece of food that the previous client dropped on the table. Took a long time for the employee just to come say hi and give you the menu. Even the menu is old and half destroyed. Food quality is inconsistent, it can be super good or super bad. Sushi are in general very good that’s why I added 2 star. Portion are difficult to gauge, some sushi roll are super big and some super small. Bathroom are not cleaned often.
Really, the Beach House was amazing 5 - 6 years ago. It just look like it...
Read moreWe were a party of six and ordered the sushi for two, a couple of rolls, the filet mignon as well as the lobster meal with shrimps and fish. The steak was over cooked even though it was asked to be medium rare - it was inedible and tasted like leather. The shrimps that it came with were miniature in size. The lobster and seafood were ghastly overcooked - extremely chewy. But the worst part was the sushi - upon eating the tuna nigiri I realized it was still frozen and had gone bad, resulting in me vomiting on the beach, literally while the waiter gave us our bill for $175 usd. None of the sushi was eaten and they did not take it off our bill. This is the worst place I have been to, do...
