Sunday brunch is always a good idea ๐ Iโve been on the lookout for bottomless mimosas in Lagos since forever so it was quite interesting when I found out that The Sidebar by Miskay offers brunch- two meals with bottomless mimosas for N10k so your favourite food connoisseur decided to check it out
The space: sure is petite but cute in every way! Florid with artificial plants, picturesque if you like the โnatureโ concept and it kind of reminded of the garden of eden ๐๐ (donโt ask how). They seem big on hygiene as I didnโt see any fly around during my visit and the space was all neat.
The food: So we had Spaghetti bolognese, French toast, chocolate brownie and coconut cake waffle: Any restaurant that makes spaghetti bolognese wrongly deserves to be flogged ๐, itโs a classic really and well The sidebar delivered. Quantity was great, pasta well cooked, sauce was very flavourful filled with minced meat. The French toast on the other hand didnโt overly impress me, I think I have high standards when it comes to french toast ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ. Both the french toast and berry compote gets an average score from me. Not bad but Iโve tasted better. Desserts were lovely, my recommendation would be the chocolate brownie ๐
The drinks: so you get access to bottomless mimosas for 2 hours, do ensure you get there on time as it ends by 3pm.
Now onto the service; it was OK, everyone seemed nice and minded their business but it wasnโt memorable for me. I think they can work a bit more on giving an experience that makes you stay hooked ๐ช Getting a waitstaff attention was also a bit difficult.
Overall I had a yummy time and I recommend! Really good value for money and the drinks and meals are worth it

The sidebar is a cozy space next to the miskay boutique that seats roughly 14 - 18 people at capacity. The setting is undeniably aesthetically pleasing with a mix of greenery and lights in a thermo controlled greenhouse-like glass shack augmented by good RnB music.
There were two options at the time: a brunch option for 10000 NGN per head for unlimited mimosas, a main and either a starter or dessert option versus the a la carte menu.
Opted for the brunch option with honey -garlic chicken wings for starters and chicken & waffles for the main.
Although the service was a bit slow, the meal was delightfully good. Wings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, dripped in honey and with sesame sprinkled on it while the waffle and chicken was fluffy, delicious and filling.
All in all, Sidebar is more than just an aesthetically pleasing set up but provides good brunch albeit a slow service. Improving service speed / kitche turn around time will go a long way to putting this on par with similar style food places like Stax diner at Kingly...

Parking has to be strategic to ensure you don't get disturbed. So those coming to shop at the Boutique would definitely leave before those who came to eat. So ensure you park close to the building to prevent having to repark.
Once that was done I noticed it was literally a 'side' bar and it's quite creative. The pictures on SM created a bigger than life impression but it's space that was well managed ๐๐ฝ.
The ambience is lovely and the decor is tastefully done. The greenery gave a natural feeling which helps perceive the space as bigger than it actually is. The opaque roofing also helped make things 'bigger'.
We did the Sunday Brunch. The Short Ribs Croquette was good, I enjoyed it. The Jerk Chiken Pasta was great though the spice me a bit slower at eating. The waffle and chicken was great as well and the chicken wings fantastic ๐คค.
We had to return the complimentary mimosa as we were teetotalers so we got Concentrate Juice and Water.
Definitely a place you'd want to take pictures in as we saw a lot of...
