I don't think Bukka Hut itself really needs a review. Just imagine The Place with a bigger focus on traditional dishes - you're more likely to notice the Efo riro than the "Chinese fried rice". I also reckon it's the biggest competitor to The Place because the similarities are significant.
This particular store however has a unique attraction. At night it turns into a grill. The more popular term is Suya Spot, but you can get more than just Suya there. Right behind it is a bar/lounge thing (that I think is called Bukka Hut Lounge) but I doubt you'll be spending your Friday evening there. It's far more likely that you have gone there to get something to take away from the grill.
You must try the Ram Tozo. This, in my opinion, is their best product. Prepare to be covered in smoke through, because the extraction system has a leak that causes most of the smoke to end up where the customers are - I'm quite certain they're unaware of the folly of this.
Parking is abysmal. You already knew this, because you're in Lagos. But we should keep pointing it out because you never know who might read this and be inspired to- sorry, I digress.
In conclusion, you really didn't need to read a review of BH on Google before going there, but now you've done it anyway, you might end up more prepared than someone who didn't. Oh and don't forget to try...
Read moreFirst of all, I wouldn't sit down in there to eat. Why, because something about their painting feels like it's designed for people who buy food to go eat it at home.
The food is good. And that's a good reason to enter there and buy your food and head out of there again.
I tried my first Amala and Edikaikong soup combo here and lord, did I like it! Their spaghetti is also nice too. I didn't taste their Jollof, even though I bought from them; the woman ate it and she didn't complain so I think it's nice.
If you're a thrifty person, you can spend as low as ₦700 here. If you like spending money on food because you can't kill yourself, your bill can rise to as much as ₦20,000.
On my visits to this place, I usually average ₦2,000. Why, because I like their fried fish and it's making me say calories be damned.
You want to try this place, but please, don't let your girlfriend follow you. Go alone. Get the food....
Read moreSo, I was hanging out with friends at Bukka hut. T’was just about noon. My crush ‘Lolu’ asked if I’d like to try out the vip upstairs. We were famished and wanted some good food. We didn’t have to place our order downstairs: at the rest. Rather, at the vip upstairs, we enjoyed an exclusive service.
Our orders were delivered promptly with the warmest reception. There were non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Aha! that ofada garnished with meat sauce and fried chicken is one memory that will lingers for a while. Not anyone of us complained about our meals.
Stuffed with those delicacies, I remember we were happiest at the lounge. The color theme and aesthetics puts one in the mood to unwind. Little wonder we passed time easily.
Ring! Ring!! Mom is calling. All that fun gone with the wind and replace with the anxiety of the layer of traffic I would face from admiralty way to the...
