ASIA Aker Brygge — Restaurant in Oslo

Oh, Asia, what an amazing and wholesome experience. If I could put more stars, I would. I moved to Oslo a year ago, and since I arrived I've been a regular customer, why? It's an outstanding gastronomic proposal that goes beyond food, they take care of every detail, starting from inside until the dish in front of you. The collaborators there are like a family, they deliver a wholesome experience, as mentioned before, since the reservations and accommodation once you're there. Kristjian, the host, is just the absolute best, he took care of me and my friends several times, so well that when I was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday, such a special day, Asia was a no-brainer, because all of them make me feel like home away from home. Everyone loved it! You feel so pampered and the star of the night!

Ok now, if I talk about the food, super important topic of course, this restaurant is such a great choice, again: they pay attention to every detail, from the high quality ingredients locally produced, adding the carbon footprint of each dish depending on the elements in the menu, and I must confess that this made me fell in love with this place, and highlighted it among other restaurants in the world. Also, if you're a wanderlust soul like me, that loves to discover new and amazing flavours in every corner of the world, well, you're in the right place. Every bite is such a delicious trip to Asia, thoughtfully sparkled with components from the other continents, so I wanted to congratulate the chef for translating his luggage full of great knowledge in world flavours, into the exquisite menu he keeps creating.

When I have my globetrotter friends visiting, who are also passionate about good international food, Asia Aker Brygge is my go-to in Oslo. It's located in front of the sea, near the Nasjonalmuseet, stations and nice boats at sight.

Am I missing something? Probably a lot, still, all I can say is go, enjoy and thank me later, I cannot...

On a Norway in a Nutshell tour , first evening in Oslo and we picked out this harbour side Asian restaurant mainly as it had some good vegetarian options for one of our group of four. It was quite busy but we were given an outside table, it was a nice evening so we didn't mind. The service was very helpful in guiding us through the menu options. To cut short what could be a long story we had a nice meal although I did think the chicken in the bao buns was a bit undercooked but unfortunately I didn't give it a second thought due to our chatter etc. 24 hours later I and one of our group the only other person to eat a chicken bao bun had terrible diarrhoea and sickness. I am writing this review 5 days later in Bergen . We are only just getting back to normal. Thank goodness for imodium. We are sure it was this meal that caused the problem as it was the only food myself and a friend had the same. Looking down the reviews I noticed undercooked chicken in a bao bun has been previously reported. So please tell your cooks even with the pressures of a busy restaurant to spend an extra couple of minutes checking the food especially...

Excellent service every time I go there despite waiters being so busy and working non-stop. Staff is always very kind and smiling. I'd like to highlight the last time I went with my mother and grandma. It was their first time there and Signe explained all the menu, gave us recommendations that suited our taste buds perfectly. I am so happy with the vegan menu there. I had vegan maki and we shared edamame beans and aubergine fries. For the dessert Signe also gave us great recommendations. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate for my mom, something lighter and fruity for grandma and the banana cake for me. It looked so beautiful and the great service just made it taste even better. The place is located by the fjord and you can watch ferries going back and forth from the islands. I love the interior as well but most importantly I just really wish everybody appreciated all the hard work waiters and waitresses put in this place.
