Do you love tapas, great flavour or great wine? If yes, I sincerely hope you stay away. This was my third visit in a 5 year period, and I'm shocked about the degrade over time. To summarize: The food lacks taste or a clear flavour profile - and it's obvious when taking a bite they use mediocre ingredients. The texture on several dishes are off, such as the Bravas or meat dishes Service is lacklustre and you have to be proactive in ordering. We had the pleasure of waiting over 20 minutes before a waiter came near our table Overprized wine - you can find the same bottle at Vinmonopolet to 50-100 NOK more than the price of a glas What topped the experience was receiving Sherry wine in SHOT glasses, and they do not pore you the normal 4-6 cl, they give you a measly 2 cl. Is this a joke?
Why this place receive multiple five star reviews is lost on me, and I'm starting to doubt people's ability to be critical or even taste the food. Moving forward I will put effort into warning my network to stay away and rather select a real...
Read moreThe food is good very similar to authentic Spaniard tapas. Having a pretty consisten quality to the other times I have been there. The waiting times are a little long but you are compensated for your patience with a good meal.
What really takes down your experience is the uncomfortable interior decoration (hard chairs and very little space between tables) as well as the badly trained waiters. They have no idea of proper serving etiquette multiple times the waiter will reach in front of you to grab things and then stack all the empty plate in front of you on top of the table before taking them away.
And while I understand the rush waiters have especially in days with a full restaurant. It would be nice if they could stop to answer questions about the food or check if anything is needed in the table.
I give the restaurant a solid 3 which could easily go up if they fixed there issues with the service. Definitely recommend a reservation before going as waiting times for a table can be...
Read moreWe had an incredible dining experience at Delicatessen, Majorstuen, and itâs safe to say this has become one of our new favorite spots in Oslo. We dined in using Amex and were treated to an amazing spread of Spanish tapas that we happily devoured until every plate was empty!
The meal started with a selection of small bites: salty Marcona almonds, mixed olives, and manchego cheese. From there, the table filled with colorful and beautifully presented tapas. â€ïž
The service was absolutely fantastic â attentive, friendly, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The staff made sure everything came out at the right pace, and the cozy yet lively atmosphere of the restaurant made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
By the end, there wasnât a single bite left a true testament to how good everything was. Whether youâre a tapas lover or just want a warm and memorable dining experience in Oslo, Delicatessen Majorstuen is a...
