Der Peppern Gror Bogstadveien — Restaurant in Oslo

Me and my partner went here for a meal, boy were we inn for a treat. We were met by heartwarming and generous staff. We were shown to our table and were presented an exciting and mouth watering menu.

We ended up picking a mix grill and lamb curry, with naan bread (personal opinion : naan is mandatory). This was an extremely well balanced and delicious combination. No crumbs left on the plate type food. To pair it we went straight for cocktails. I’m sure they can pair it with wine and beer as well . But you must try the cocktails. (Personal recommendation :holy cow). We finished the seance with a shared dessert. Home made fudge with coconut sorbet. Creamy, spicy, and sweet . It was delicious.

The atmosphere was home and cozy vibe. The waitress was considerate, engaging but not pushy. It was the feeling of being treated as a guest at your mom/dad’s house. We felt seen, taken care of, not bothered nor stressed.

I have ordered food from here before and been very happy with the flavors and portions, but to get the full experience you have to visit the restaurant! Today I went there together with my partner and it was even better than what I have experienced before, big portions, not the typical indian menu that you find almost everywhere else, the flavors was so spot on, not that expensive (to be in Oslo) and the service was A+!

I do not understand the bad reviews that this place have gotten, our experience was so far from that. It can only be excused with either the reviewer waking up on the wrong side of the bed or that things went slow due to the restaurant being packed - which is a very good sign of their food and service.

Food is quite good. We ordered chicken 65, it was all soggy like frozen chicken not at all fresh. So we reported that to them and for replacement they asked us to order anything else. We orderd one starter and we did not get that on table, our main course arrived then we thought they may b have not those starter so we asked for bill. Hilarious. They included that extra item in our bill which we did not have. We informed them again that and then they prepared and we did take away. We got free tea by them while waiting. I will not say it was good experience, I am giving one star extra for that one man who was really nice to us and polite and literally like saying sorry for all this.
