I’m an American and I seek out Mexican food and burritos all over Europe and have been doing so for the last 12 years. This place El Camino has been good in the past. The burritos are EXTREMELY expensive for a burrito place. Not only that but one would expect a certain quality when buying a burrito which should cost no more that 20 euros with chips included. If you’re visiting Oslo I would suggest spending money elsewhere because of the risk you’re taking with this place. (this location specifically) however, the Solli Plass location is amazing and I will spend my money there because the quality of this location from top to bottom is legit. I have gone to this location near Majorstuen (spelling sorry) and it is absolutely horrible. I was charged far more money for the same burrito at Solli Plass and it tasted absolutely disgusting. I was so disappointed that I am giving my first good review ever right now. The attitude of the employees, the food itself, just a true shame, considering how much money you have to pay to eat a small burrito with NO chips included. Buyer beware!...

You would wait in line for a long time despite it being 6 people working and very few people being there (it was one of those holidays where everyone in Norway leaves for the mountains). The worst part is that yours eyes would meet with the workers and they would still ignore you. They would not do you the courtesy to tell someone else to tend to you but rather continue chatting amongst themselves - which they were doing to be clear. I mean if you are not the one tending to the bar, let the bartender know that s/he is needed in the bar.
I have worked and managed to successful bars and let me tell you, this service is what you can expect at a tired old bar and not in one of the most trendy streets in Oslo.
There was one worker, however, who showed impeccable service. She is the tall brunette and was doing the work for...
Read moreFirst time at El Camino and I had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant itself is really nice, large open space and different forniture to add an exotic touch to the place but all very comfy. The personnel was really helpful and explained to me all the options and also gave recommendation on the food mix and drinks, so thanks a lot! 🌮The food is very good, simple but very effective, I liked that the burrito and tacos dough is processed at the moment and it doesn´t get wet and soggy for the sauces (+10 points for the dough)! I liked the pork the most, with a mix of guacamole, tomatoes, lime and jalapeños. As a suggestion it would be good to have some indication of what ingredients are behind the glass, some stuff is easy to recognise, some not.
🌶 Hot spicy lovers beware: for me the sauces were not very spicy so get some jalapeños for the 🔥🔥🔥. I forgot to ask for Tabasco so I don't know if...
