I was in Oslo on a work trip recently, and was looking for something quick, easy and nearby my hotel. Enter Freddy Fuego Burrito Bar- A place that lives up to its name, being exactly what it claims to be: A place for burritos.
The salsas are great, but different than standard US fair, with the chef's creativity coming out in the prep. If you're expecting a burrito like standard chains in the US, you'll be disappointed. And, well, if your only experience with burritos is those places, I feel sad for you, since you're missing out on all the wonderful ways to combine salsa, meats, and veggies and wrap it all into a tortilla.
Freddy Fuego Burrito Bar has delicious burritos with amazing salsas and unique flavors. The owner is very excited about having you sample his salsas, which come in several unique and tasty varieties.
I only had a few days in Oslo, and ended up here twice due to tastiness, vigor of the owner, and being close to where I was staying. The owner clearly cares a lot, and it shows in the preparation and flavor...
Read moreFreddy Fuego was one of my favourite take away food to have in this area of Oslo. I have been there countless times since they opened, but I have been extremely disappointed by what they are proposing now, and I don’t think I will go back there.

I remember the first time I tried the cochinita, it was full of citrus and spices flavour. It was absolutely not the case now, and the 3 last time I tried… So enough is enough, and I will now avoid this place in the future,...
Read moreMy partner and I went there for a dinner around 6 pm, and we phone ordered half roasted duck one hour beforehand. The roasted duck was really delicious and mouth-watering, crispy skin but juicy and tender meat, really worth trying.
We ordered a plate of dumplings and short soup wonton as well, all of the dumplings are homemade. The chef told me he made every dumplings and wontons from flour dough all by himself. The dumplings taste exactly like the one I tried in China. We finally ordered another plate of pan-fried dumplings, personally I like the boiled one most cause they are more juicy.
Customer service there was great as well, their lunch special cost only $13, and the dumplings only $10, so...
