Khushi Indian Cuisine - Oslo — Restaurant in Oslo

Was quite disappointed after hearing so many recommendations about this place. Maybe if I try it again, then I can come and eat at the restaurant and ask for the dish to be made for an asli Hindustani to eat.. The food taste was not normal at all, seemed extremely altered to the Norwegian pallette maybe, it seemed like sugar was poured into it, even when I specifically chose to have it spicy(Madras level) when ordering the food for delivery. But even without spice, a butter chicken should taste like a butter chicken, and not that sugary and tomato-ey mess that was delivered to me. It should have been called the sugar tomato curry with chicken.

On top of that, the laminated container, while peeling off the laminate from the top, the plastic ripped and the whole container slipped, as it was falling I caught it and only nearly half fell to the floor. Okay that part has nothing to do with why my rating is 2/5, but here's why I included it.. I did not care that nearly half was wasted, because the taste was so disappointing.

It also seemed that the restaurant did not check any of the notes we provided while ordering food, imagine if we had any serious allergies and they just ignore our notes.. also ignored our spice level choices, don't provide choice if you ignore what it is.

I hope that the cook was just having a bad day and that nobody else gets what I did.

It has been a few days now since the order, so I have at least cooled down a bit. If I had done any of this the same day, this would have been so much more extreme.

I recently visited an Indian restaurant Khushi and was thoroughly impressed by their offerings. The garlic naan was exceptionally flavorful, boasting a perfect balance of crispiness and softness with a delightful garlic aroma that enhanced every bite. The roasted mutton grill was equally outstanding. The meat was tender, juicy, and marinated to perfection, delivering a rich and savory taste that lingered on the palate. Finally decided to try this place after going by for many years. Thrown off by the Amitabh statue at the entrance. 😅 we ordered chicken Karahi, pepper shrimp, Chana daal, etc and a smattering of breads to share. Nice, tasty food and definitely better quality than the average tomato puréed, over priced "indian" places in Oslo. Chakra draft was a great way to open! 1/2 litre and delicious! Great, hospitable service by Imran with a desi touch. Shabby chique decor suits the vibe.
