I ate here yesterday seeing the wonderful reviews and pictures of the food. The food me and my sister received was awful. I ordered the Tuesday special which is the cutlet. I don't know if they have a different chef to normal, but the cutlet was wet, soggy, everything covered in grease. The potatoes and peas seemed microwaved and NO seasoning!!! It was all bland, greasy, wet and horrible. I have never sent food back but I had to send it back. The waitress said the chef had closed the kitchen but she went back and re-cooked it herself in the kitchen because the chef refused. It was a bit better when she had cooked it more but still not great. We then saw the chef leave through the restaurant and he clearly did not care that he was making very very bad food. It was all cooked badly - and why was it not seasoned at all?? I can make much better food myself, if I made this at home I would bin it. The food on pictures of this restaurant looked delicious but this was horrible. The restaurant itself is cute and the waitress was lovely, but the food was bad. My sister got the trout and that was ok, but still very bland and no seasoning at all on the food. The boiled potatoes were very sad and soggy. The only good thing...

My family of four (including two young children) walked into this restaurant around 6pm after walking from Vigeland Park. There seemed to be 2 people managing the front of the house, and while they were busy, they were courteous and prompt with service. We were lucky to immediately snag a table on a Saturday evening. We noted a crowd of locals enjoying drinks together; possibly a happy hour gathering. The decor was rustic and distinctly Norwegian, and other patrons looked to be regulars or families from the area. The menu is decidedly Norwegian with many local surf and turf offerings. Our kids chose sausages and hamburgers and fries from the kid's menu. They happily ate everything (I had a bite and thought the quality and flavor was great by any standard, let alone for kids). I ordered the special of the evening, which was the steak (Lørdag), while my husband had the mountain trout dish (Stekt ørret fillet). Both were exceptional! We practically licked the plates clean. The wine and beer were wonderfully paired, but the service and food are the star of the restaurant. If we're ever in Oslo again, we'd happily book reservations again...

We came in at about 9:50 and the gentleman at the front informed us that we wouldn’t be able to dine because the kitchen closes at 10. Of course we understood however he dashed off to the kitchen and came back to tell us that they would be willing to cook us a meal. How kind!!!!! We just want to thank the staff for going out of their way to accommodate us and make our night out in Oslo such a great one. The service was fantastic and the food AMAZING!!!! Plus the place is very beautiful and cosy on the inside. Thank you again for taking...

A really good solid restaurant, serving what I assume is traditional Norwegian food (I'm not a local so wouldn't be able to tell). The dish I selected was Flat Fish with Shrimps and it was delicious and tasted absolutely fresh. Just the right size too. The dessert of hot apple pie was also just the right sweetness level for my taste. I left feeling full and happy. A reasonably priced place as well and judging by the number of locals at 5pm here, it is very popular! The service was at times a little slow, but it was a packed restaurant.
