Review of the bakery part:

I came here on a Sunday and I definitely think it is better to come here when the bakery-hype has died down a bit. Right now it’s newly opened.

The place is crammed with people (and a line outside), so it is not the most relaxing atmosphere in between everyone trying to order. Due to the amount of people it also takes some time to get the food and drinks.

I came for the pastrami sandwhich, but they had it with pork neck instead. Fine with me, but I ended up paying 210nok for a sandwhich and a rhubarb drink. The sandwhich I asked for was clearly priced at 125nok, so either they calculated wrongly or I actually paid 85nok for a small rhubarb store bought limonade. If so, I would say it is rather expensive. Maybe they added even more to the sandwhich price as they had sold out of pastrami but not pork? Regardless, it turned out to be an expensive lunch.

When the sandwhich arrived I was surprised that it was not cut open. I got a whole breadroll as the top layer (never seen this thick and funky twist before). Maybe it is a bit too hectic in the kitchen these days?

The sandwhich itself was good. Nice flavours, but a bit more filling wouldn’t hurt.

Overall ok food at a very busy (and...

When we got to the restaurant the hostess asked if we had a reservation, since we didn’t, she first laughed and then said it was not possible to give us a table. We left and I went on their webpage to make a reservation for another day, but there were tables available on the same day just 15 minutes later and she didn’t bother to let us know. Anyway, I made a reservation and we came back to see the same empty tables that were empty when we tried earlier. During the whole dinner the tables were not occupied so I still don’t understand why she didn’t suggest we waited a bit instead of letting us leave. The first dish was a plate of 3 pickled vegetables, two of them were not edible (fennel and celery). It was one of the worst things I have ever tried. Second dish was a cold fish that was ok and the third was bread with butter (so little butter that I had to ask for a bit more). The main dish was lamb and was really good. The desert was vanilla ice cream coated with some kind of nut butter that was neither salty or sweet, just added a weird texture to the ice cream, on the side was a citric clementine jam that didn’t match with the rest.

Very...

Over rated and disappointed. I had dinner here with my boy friend after we have seen so many good reviews all over media. We went for small plates instead of set menu. Taste were very disappointing on almost all of them. The combination of tomatoes and anchovy just doesn't work at all. Veal was bland with a way to rich sauce, and so were the sauce to salad that goes with the Lamb ragu pie. We ordered both trifle and chestnut madeleines for desert and they came separately and the madeleines was just madeleines, all 4 of them, nothing else. Very goo taste, but way to sweet and dry to eat alone. Service was disappointing too. Waitress was cold and no willing to recommend and drinks to go with for, and all the dishes was almost throw to our table. We were not even been asked whether we would like to have tea or coffee to go with desert, if only i would know the madeleines were so many and so sweet, i would definitely order espresso.

I didn't take photo of anything, was just very disappointed and wanted to leave restaurant as fast...

I’m happy that now they have a bakery as well. They have absolutely delicious almond croissant and small sourdough sandwich bread. I really liked the cinnamon bun too. Normally my fav is cardamom bun but the cardamom bun here lacks a bit of sweetness (I don’t like it too sweet either). But otherwise, the dough is very soft and delicious. Their plain croissant and sourdough loaf bread are also pretty good. 07.09.2025: We just tried the sunday roast here and it was truly heartwarming! We had a menu consisted of creamy mushroom soup with smoked bacon, green salad, glazed yellow beets, roasted potatoes, kale with garlic, and roasted chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious and filling. The soup, kale, beets, and chicken were my favs. The soup was legendary. As desserts, we had lemon panna cotta with plum sauce and apple crumble. The lemon panna cotta was very good; sweet, tangy, and mildly sour. This was a wonderful experience and highly recommended especially for small friend groups.

The atmosphere at The Little Pickle was lovely and relaxed. The staff was incredibly friendly and sweet. I attended a lunch event there and was delighted with the delicious food we were served. The flavors were tasteful and savory in the best way. We enjoyed a sharing menu that included Mushroom Risotto, Norwegian Tomatoes with Blue Cheese Dressing, Roasted Cauliflower, Free Range Pork Pie, and Sourdough Bread with whipped butter. Although I'm not sure if these items are on the regular menu, they should definitely be considered because the food was amazing! For drinks, I opted for lemonade, but my friends really enjoyed the wine. The Banana Bread with Miso Caramel and Walnut Croquant was absolutely divine! I highly recommend it!
