Yummy House, a descendant of one of the first Chinese restaurants in Norway, caught our attention and we decided to give it a try.
S6. Mapo Tofu The Mapo Tofu was a standout dish, though it was not as spicy as we expected in comparison to the authentic version. It had a good flavor and included bits of meat, squash, paprika, and onion in addition to the soft tofu.
S10. Yummy Style Lamb Chops The Yummy Style Lamb Chops were grilled to perfection and had wonderful cumin and chili-based flavors that gave this dish a great kick. It was a bit on the spicy side, but still very enjoyable.
Kinesisk Pepperbeef The Pepperbeef was a decent dish, consisting of typical Westernized Chinese meat marinade wokked together with vegetables. While the dish tasted good, we would recommend trying some of the more authentic dishes on the menu.
S8. Twice Cooked Pork The Twice Cooked Pork was a bit disappointing, as the pork belly meat was a little dry and the sauce tasted like sweet soy. However, the dish was still tasty overall.
Fried Banana The Fried Banana was served as a tower of fried banana balls covered in a sweet syrup and a scoop of "Diplom is gammeldags vanilje". Fried banana beeing one of our favorite desserts, It was a guilty pleasure that we...
Read moreAs a special occasion of celebrating for the Mid-Autumn festival, we were going to share two moon cakes brought by one of our friends (size can be seen in the picture) after the food. Then we were told a straight "No (with furious anger), food from outside is strictly prohibited in this restaurant" from the "Restaurant Manager" claimed to be, of course she understood the custom and culture, yet her behaviour is worth of this review.
Would you also believe in this day and age, as a customer in a restaurant been told that "they do have the high chair for babies but they just don't provide to their guests" and declaring that "they have been so generous allowing us to take the baby car seat inside a restaurant". All this happened after we boasted their food.
The ladies were so upset as they have been craving for the moon cake at this occasion and been treated in a such rude manner. We often hear about rude customers whilst this time we experienced rude manager.
What a disgraceful act, I feel ashamed about their service, and my sincere apologies to the customers those who have been and who will be treated unfairly in this restaurant just so you know that not all Chinese people behave like that.
Kids / Babies apparently won't be...
Read moreThis is a great place to eat. My mum and I had been walking all day long and were a bit hungry. As tourists from Spain, we spent a lot of time trying to decide where to eat. Everything seemed really expensive and we were afraid we wouldn't eat as much as our hungry stomachs demanded. In the end, we came across this restaurant. It was a great decision because the food was abundant and really delicious. The waiters were really nice and we could order very quickly. Our food came within 5 minutes. We also ordered water to drink and it was free!! The dishes were enourmous so we were happy and satisfied. The fried rice and noodles were a great value!! The place is superb too, looking like a real chinese restaurant, considerable details were taken into account. Very different from the typical chinese restaurants we are used to. I recommend you...
