We first noticed Gaffel & Karaffel in Stavanger at lunchtime because of its unique and memorable name. When looking for a place to have dinner – surrounded by an abundance of foreign or non-Norwegian cuisine – it caught our attention again: a clear and well-structured concept, a thoughtful menu, and appealing dishes. Booking online was lightning fast and completely hassle-free. Once we arrived, we were immediately impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The whole team was friendly, attentive, and always present without being intrusive.

The food was a delight from start to finish – perfectly thought out, expertly prepared, and absolutely delicious. You can truly feel that quality and attention to detail are a top priority here.

A special thanks goes to the lively Greek waiter Pedro, whose open and friendly manner brings genuine warmth and soul to the place. He makes sure every guest feels completely at ease.

We are so glad we came here – a real gem...

We celebrated our son's Norwegian confirmation in the Krystal Room of this well-established restaurant in Stavanger. We had booked the venue almost a year in advance and the staff were helpful all the way with planning and executing the event, including the menu offerings and room setup.

They took care of everything and all we had to do was enjoy the day. The food was spectacular and they adapted to the dietary needs of some of our guests. The staff on the day were also helpful and couldn't do enough to help us - we really appreciated their faultless friendliness. I also enjoyed the friendly banter between two Aussies, me and the chef. It was just an example of the laid back but quality driven approach taken by everyone in the staff.

We would definitely come back again, not only for special events but also a nice night out.

Highly...

What a hidden gem located in the old part of the city; simple decor but rather charming and providing a comfortable ambiance. We made a reservation, we were greeted and seated promptly. It is a small dining area, and a popular restaurant, so reservations are highly recommended.

I ordered the Spicy Cuba Libre; refreshing.

We selected this restaurant for a light dinner, and to share the dishes. The food was very good to excellent; we ordered, and to share, the Goat Cheese and Fig Flatbread, and the Ocean Trout Sashimi. Both choices were well prepared and of great taste. We enjoyed both very much. For desserts we selected the Lemon Curd and the Chocolate Tart; YUMMY, happy to end a good meal with excellent sweet choices.

There are so many restaurants here, but if in town again I will definitely patronize this...

I had the Morrocan inspired pumpkin with couscous dish. I went here during the food festival where they offered a discounted price. This dish was delicious and exceeded my expectations. All the ingredients were fresh and sauce was very tasty. The pumpkin was tender and went great with the sauce. I was happy with the meal and would order it again at the regular price. The server that helped us was excellent! We had gone there when it was full, he booked the next available table for us and told us to come back in 15 minutes and then seated us. My only minor complaint would be is the image advertised for the dish for the food festival looked nothing like the dish that was served. It was almost like the photo is taken of a similar dish from somewhere else.
