Ovre Holmgate in Stavanger is a unique street called "Fargegata" (colour street). The establishments on this street were not doing business as they should and and hairdresser Tom Kjorvisk worked with building owners and in 2005 overcoming resistance from locals after 4.5 years along with artist Craig Flannagan managed approval from owners for the colour scheme implementation and simultaneous banning traffic made. One of the most vibrant and colorful streets in Stavanger (or maybe Scandinavia)! Beautiful cafè and bars with good vibes and sometimes crowded on the weekends. But definitely worth the vusit if you are in Stavanger fir any other reason. In summer time there are live music and festivals in the middle of the street, and in winter the beautiful lights over the street, make it magical and memorable!
