Nice place, cozy, good design, funky, dark, fashion and modern. Came there at 4:30 because i was tired, so nobody was there, which was good for introvert like me. I tried laksa ramen and karaage. If you are a sensitive asian, you immidiate get the greese vibe of hongkong dishes, in a positive way. Lemon cuts on the karaage wasnt consider genius by me. Was really hard and can’t squeeze to the chicken. The spice powder on majonese is just for color, you taste nothing. Karaage was greasy, thick, bit stinky, some nice crips and not become soggy. Major was very fatty, creamy. The “bouillabaisse” noodle was really strong and overly salty. The shrimp with the head on was nice, some fishcakes, a piece of tiny fried air tofu, got 2 shrimp, and some bits of squid. Was nice. I was so hungry but give up the dish almost half unfinished, for the broth was too salty, and jesus i have never ate any ramen, jjamppong, or any European soup that was so heavy the same. I wish it serves with some pieces of lemon, because then it helps refreshing and maybe it could save your dish from embarrassment throw up customers. Rather say i’m still having nightmare of it now. And for such a strong broth, guys you know what, they use so thin noodles, and either it’s so hard to pick up, noodle splashes from easy pull, i have to wipe myself a lot, and i have asian chopstick skills. Imagine some poor Norwegian who still learn to hold chopsticks on their 1500th sushi encounter. Staff probably see i start taking pictures so its not count, but i got a nice one this time from the door walk in. Didn’t drink 🍺 Overall it was expensive for just food, concept tries to be creative, but ends up so so, easily pass the eyes of people who never got to get out of Norway to eat smt hella delicious, and would disappointed the most open...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a very disappointing experience here and it was our last night after 10 days in Norway. The restaurant itself was well decorated and had a nice atmosphere but the menu provided very limited options outside of the pricey sharing menu. We also found that one of the menus we had had lower prices than the rest.
We had a vegetarian in our group and there were no main meal vegetarian options without doing the full sharing menu. When asked if she could order one vegetarian dish from the sharing menu, the waitress told her she thought that wouldn't be a problem and then returned and said it was not an option. When I asked if I could sample their house beer before ordering it, the waitress said she would check and returned and said she couldn't provide a sample. One person in my group ordered the Oolong Negroni drink and it was the smallest drink pouring I've ever seen for 168NOK (over $15). It had a huge ice cube in the middle and quite literally 2 sips of the drink.
We were not sure we'd be able to find something for everyone to eat so we held off on ordering while the rest of the group drank their beers. The manager came over and we shared our concerns and she immediately became extremely rude and sarcastic, and said "Welcome to Norway," this is how things are done around here, which was interesting after having gone to dozens of restaurants in Norway and never having this kind of experience. She made no attempt to be understanding or accommodating. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave and she continued to be over-the-top sarcastic with us as we...
Read moreTLDR: was served non-vegan food before being told that 90% of vegans eat eggs and/or dairy so it’s ok.
I am never happy to give out a one star review but unfortunately being wrongly served non-vegan food when I specifically ordered an item which was labelled ‘vegan’ on the menu, warrants the one star.
The menu is laid out in a terrible fashion with vegan labels being thrown around like they mean nothing. In my case, ordered a rice dish which was labelled vegan yet had a description saying it contained egg. Of course having spotted this I ask if this is vegan or not as it describes containing eggs. The waiter comes back to me having asked the chef if it can be made vegan and she says yes. I receive my rice course. I eat half of it and start to notice a cheesy taste. I search through the rice and notice cheddar cheese.
I bring this up to the waiter who knew I asked for it vegan and they said, and this is a quote:
“90% of vegans eat eggs or milk”
Apparently a vegan label on their menu means nothing according to them as a lot of their supposed ‘vegan’ customers eat eggs or dairy. I explained to them calmly that is the difference of vegan and vegetarian and that they should just put the word veggie instead but they would not listen.
So, not only I was mis-served non vegan food but I also had to argue with the waiter to explain to him what vegan even means… after they spray the label all over their menu like it’s nothing!
As you can see if you’ve read this far, I am quite furious. Just save yourself the 550 nok on this terrible restaurant. It is far too...
