Proud Mary Pub Stavanger — Restaurant in Stavanger

This, as the erstwhile Dickens, was the first pub' in the World where I had to queue to enter! But alcohol has always been a sensitive issue in Western Norway with a number of restrictions - not to mention very high prices. Norwegian beer is about the worst in the World, I simply cannot enthuse. However, as Dickens, it had a great atmosphere and a VERY friendly clientelle (emphasis on the 'elle') - great for 'meeting' people - but that was decades ago and before we were working in town. No comments on the food - it was not really a dining place. Must go...

Lovely pub....loved the decor, simple but rustic wooden big benches....like you find in the mead halls....Good friendly service....yes its Norway....and yes the pints are more expensive than the good olde uk but still worth it in my opinion. Loved the mens room decor 🍺...

Fabulous pub. Went in to shelter from the rain. Being in Norway the beer was expensive, £11 a pint. But thats not uncommon there. Stops you drinking too much, which is a shame because the local hoppy beer was fabulous. Rustic and Viking feasting hall like inside....
