This a large dine-in restaurant centrally located near the harbour. They have a unique sand flooring and a well decorated interior. I went here later at night and was happy to hear the kitchen was still open. The waiter was friendly and the food arrived in a timely manner. They have a small menu with most of the classic fish based dishes such as fish and chips and baked salmon.
I ordered their Vegeterian dish because their menu seemed fairly pricey relative to other places in the city. All their fish dishes were over 350 kr, which is fine if they are using good fresh ingredients. The only thing under 300kr was the Vegeterian dish, which I believe was 275 kr, so I ordered that instead. Thinking I would come back and try a fish dish if I liked the Vegeterian one. Unfortunately I do not think I will visit again unless the dinner is part of a work event.
Overall I was not impressed by the Vegeterian dish, although there were some nice aspects. The rice felt under salted, a very mild flavour. There was a lot of olive oil at the bottom, which made the rice feel a bit oily. The dish was also very hot, similar to a takeout which needs to stay warm until you get home. But as this is served to eat, it should be warm but not super hot. The portion size also felt fairly small given the price of almost 300 kr. In the city you can get fish soup, pad Thai, curries, gyro, sushi, or burgers for around the same price.
On the positive end, the vegetables were fresh and well cooked. I enjoyed the baby tomatoes. When I popped one of the baby tomatoes and mixed it in with the rice, it tasted great, as it give a nice acidic element to the dish. Maybe that is how it was intended to be eaten by the chef rather than seperately eating each ingredient on its own.
Overall it felt like a very healthy meal anyone could make it home at probably around 75 kr per serving, a mushroom rissoto with some cooked vegetables. If it was priced lower to around 200 kr, with a bit larger portion size, better seasoning, I would have given a better review.
I would of loved to go back to try some of their fish dishes, but given their prices I rather go to other restaurants for similar food at...
Read moreA complete disappointment â never again!
We were really looking forward to this fish restaurant, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete letdown. It started with the menu: dishes listed werenât actually available â so why even include them?
When we finally ordered, one of our main courses was completely forgotten. We had to ask about it ourselves before the server realized the mistake. Although we did receive an apology and were offered to have the dish prepared, by that point we had already finished eating and didnât want it anymore.
To top it all off, the forgotten dish still appeared on the final bill! Only after we brought it up again was it removed â but this kind of mistake should never happen in the first place.
The poor service didnât stop there: cutlery and napkins were missing and only brought after we asked for them. A waste bowl for the mussels? Only provided after a specific request â even though it should be standard for such a dish.
The service staff was overwhelmed, disorganized, and frankly a disaster.
Bottom line: the food was okay â nothing more. But everything else was a major disappointment. This place should definitely be avoided. Not...
Read moreWalked in last saturday to book a table for sunday evening, the girl at the door wrote down our information and confirmed our reservation. âSee you tomorrow!â is what we heard when we walked out.
Turns out the restaurant is closed on sundays. We stood outside of a closed restaurant while we made reservations a day before. When I walked in on monday to ask what went wrong, there was another young waitress at the door who could only confirm they were indeed closed on sundays, no apology, nothing.
The restaurant seems to be run by teenagers who have no idea when they open or close, or know how to handle an unsatisfied customer. Management or guidance isnât present here. Definetly a restaurant you...
