Nizam Restaurant مطعم نظام — Restaurant in Muscat

This was our second outing to Nizsm Restaurant and definitely not the last! Conveniently located on the service road in Al Khuwair, with ample parking space. Be sure to be welcomed by one of the family member's or a friendly staff member, who will attend to you personally. We started with Tandoori Chicken & a chicken Kabab. Surely the best tandoori chicken I have ever had, beats even the famed tandoori chicken of North India. Be sure to spice it according to your taste. Ours was fiery and we loved it. We also had a portion of the chicken shorba, loved it. Main course was Lahori Mutton & Dal Tadka with a selection of Tandoori Rotis. All the dishes were freshly done and served hot. Dessert was Shahi Tukra, Phirni & Kulfi, again superb. The owner's were always around, interacting with the guests to suggest from the menu, in case required. Taking their suggestion, I had a small helping of the Masala Chai. It was very refreshing. By the end of the meal, we had all committed gluttony, no regrets however. Their pricing is value for money with great taste guaranteed. We will be there again soon and strongly recommend all who read this to visit nizam...

Washroom: The washroom at this restaurant is a disaster. It was dirty with overflowing trash cans, no toilet paper, and water all over the floor. It's unacceptable for a place that serves food to have such a poorly maintained washroom.

Environment: The restaurant's environment is terrible. It was extremely noisy with no soundproofing, making it difficult to hold a conversation. The lighting was too bright, and the décor was outdated and uninviting. Overall, the restaurant lacked any sort of ambiance.

Services: The service at this restaurant was not up to par. The wait staff was inattentive, unprofessional, and seemed disinterested in their job. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait for over an hour to be seated. The food was also served cold, indicating a lack of attention and care from the kitchen staff.

Overall, this restaurant falls short in all three areas. It’s not a place that I would recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant...

All I can say they have a terrible service or I should say staff.

I reached the restaurant around 4:50pm in the afternoon. The place was empty I was the only customer. Then there is this one staff (he is alone that time) who is on the phone by time I arrive. So I politely asked him if the restaurant is open and he nodded 'Yes'.

So there I was waiting for roughly around 5 to 8 minutes while he is still on his phone talking to someone and keep on signaling me that their conversation is about to finish.

Like, Am I supposed to wait for him to finish his phone call before I can order?

In the end, I left the restaurant and searched for another one.

Will never come back to a place where they don't value...
