We drove all the way for beef shawarma only to find out they're out of beef. Do the restaurants even realize how frustrating this is for customers to be told they're out of items on their own menu? Just means they have poor management and poor stock taking. So we ordered "meezeh" and few minutes later the waiter comes back to inform us they're even out of that! Bhai, toe phir restaurant na kholo, koi oar karobar ker lo jahan stock taking na ho! Any way, we settled for Chicken platter and chicken shawarmas, not because we wanted to, but because there was no other choice. So here's my take on all the "Syrian" hype, and trust me, I have worked in Labanese restaurants abroad so I have a benchmark; the only difference in the shawarma you get on the streets of Lahore, and Homs shawarma, is the price. And oh, there's no indoor seating as well. All in all, an utter...
Read moreThis was my second time visiting Homs. Their food is great, very authentic Arabic food, that's why I again visited it on Eid day 2, 2025. However, this time the experience was really bad. Very untrained staff, I asked for clean spoons and forks, and the server handed me equally dirty spoons+forks in my hand, not in a plate like they usually do at good restaurants, or not even wrapped in a tissue. Then the electricity went out, we sat in complete darkness for over an hour, even had to eat our food in complete darkness using our cellphone's lights. The order was incomplete too, we ordered a platter and as their fryers are electric our order was short of fries and falafel, which came 30 mins late. We had finally had enough so we complained to the server who was totally unfazed and said "Madam kya ho sakta hai, generator main koi issue hai" I mean he didn't even apologise nicely. Then we paid the bill for such a bad experience and left. Even when we were leaving the server or chef or anyone from the staff didn't apologise or even said goodbye nicely. Never visiting again, Lahore has many other authentic Arabian food places too. Very bad...
