With a firm aim to provide authentic Japanese cuisine, Wasabi has done a wonderful job while decorating the place to give you the vibes accordingly! The entrance is very interesting. The green plants beautifully embrace them grey walls while you saunter through the entrance to be amazed by the ravishing ambience that it has to offer. When you climb the staircase that leads to the restaurant, you are met by a life-size sculpture of a Japanese woman sitting in her comfortable silence welcoming you to a great Japanese dine-in experience that you're about to have. With both indoor and outdoor sitting, Wasabi has done pretty exceptional job while giving them their respective vibes. Both the places offer very different dine-in experience as expected. In nice weather or winter nights, you can sit for hours talking and talking and If you've got your smoke buddy with you, you'll talk a bit more. Whichever the case, you'll take out a moment to admire the ambience.
The walls of the indoor sitting area are painted grey with red and brown interior and dim yellow lights just add to the overall deep and warm vibes of the place. There's a counter like table where plates and spoons are placed mannerly. This particular section of the restaurant is really aesthetic! The long trails of those yellow LED lights, running along the wall, that only cast their shadowy light on the walls literally have my heart! . Since we were there for breakfast, I opened up the menu to be greeted by almost all the eggy main course and to my surprise, they didn't offer any sushi for breakfast. My taste buds really had some high plans for sushi but life is sad anyways. Hovering over the menu I, as usual, ordered their most expensive omlette, Turkey Scrambler from the chef special menu, while crossing my fingers as my adventures don't always please my taste buds. With a bit disappointment of slow service, I was served my order. I liked their trays to be honest with Wasabi engraved on it. The egg scramble was stuffed in a turkey bacon weave and served with bread and sausages. The bacon strips were delicious and cooked well and the egg scramble was nicely cooked with decent amount of spices and cheese. By the looks of it, you might think you need two of these but believe me if you've finished your tray, you are fully satisfied. I really enjoyed my meal.
But the not-so-great strawberry bnana smoothie desaturated the picture a bit. The passive flavours and lack of the desired sweetness didn't work for me but I had to drink it anyways. . . They've mastered their food with a pleasant ambience but the slow service is always a major turn off. Also their drinks need to contain appropriate quantity of the ingredients. Flavours should be a little bit bursting. . Come here for good food, great ambience, some dope...
Read moreBad service, mediocre food, a very disappointing experience. I wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday and wanted it to be a special occasion. It's unfortunate I chose Wasabi over other better Japanese restaurants in town, mainly because of their elaborate menu that included Lobster dishes. Here's how Wasabi messed up our perfect night: A week or so back, I went to Wasabi in person, met the manager, confirmed the Robata grilled Lobster is available as mentioned in the menu and picked the table we'd like to be seated. The manager's reply was affirmative on all counts. So yesterday, I called at 7:00 PM, 3 hours early and made reservations for dinner at 10:15 PM. Along with the time, I specified the table we'd like and asked again that I picked Wasabi specifically because my wife would like to have lobster for her birthday dinner and is that available? Again I was told "Yes". 10:15PM, I am at Wasabi at the specified time, and NO they have not reserved the table I specified. Instead I was told to hang around till that table is free. In the meanwhile, I went to their coffee shop, the restaurant manager was there so I picked a small 'Lotus Cheese Cake' for the birthday and the manager told me they'll bring it to our table. It NEVER came! The table I had booked was still occupied after half an hour of waiting, so we compromised and moved to a table on the terrace. There was no service so I had to pick stuff from other tables and finally go in and complain before we got some attention. Then we ordered besides other things 'Robata grilled Lobster'. They served the appetizers we ordered, then they served the sushi we ordered and when it was time for the 'Lobster', the sole reason we were there, the manager comes up and tells us "sorry, that's not available". So here's the thing; it was available a week back, it was available 3 hours back and it was available just 15 minutes back when we ordered, and now half way through the meal, when it's time to serve the Lobster, they have the audacity to go back on their words!! I should've walked out, and I do at other restaurants that don't have basic integrity, but for the fact it was 11:30 and most other restaurants would've their kitchens closed. And oh, the bill was charged in full, no compensation for messing our night there either. I paid in full and still gave a fair tip to the waiter, but definitely for the last time; There's no way I am ever gonna pick Wasabi again after exceptional experiences we've had, both taste and service wise, at Fujiyama,...
Read moreA Must-Try Spot for Sushi Lovers in Lahore! My recent visit to Wasabi in Lahore was an absolute delight, and I can confidently say it's a must-recommended place for anyone craving excellent sushi. I've been here before, though it was a long time ago, and I'm happy to report that they've maintained their high standards. While they used to offer sushi platters, which I miss, and think they should re-introduce, the quality of their individual rolls is as good as ever.
We decided to stick to what they do best and ordered a variety of their signature rolls. The Crunchy Maki, Sunset Roll, California Roll, and Spicy Salmon Roll were all nothing short of exceptional. Each roll was beautifully crafted, with incredibly fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The quality was truly top-notch, making for a fantastic dining experience.
We also gave the dumplings a try. While the filling was flavorful and delicious, the outer crust was a bit of a letdown—it seemed it hadn't been steamed properly and needed some improvement. It's a minor point, but something they could definitely work on.
We didn't get a chance to try their Chinese or Thai entrées this time, but based on the quality of their sushi, we're already planning our next visit to explore the rest of the menu.
Overall, our experience at Wasabi was great, and for anyone looking for fresh, high-quality sushi, this place should be at the top...
