I recently had the pleasure of visiting a coffee and chocolate shop that I believe to be the best in town. The cappuccino was excellent and was even delivered to us on the second floor of the shop. But the real standout was the nanaimo bar, a chocolate pie with cream cheese filling that was simply delicious. The quality of the ingredients was impressive, and the sweetness was just right.
The second floor of the shop is cozy and relaxed, with comfortable couches, chairs, and tables that make it feel like a real café. For the full experience, I recommend sitting on the outside balcony, where you can enjoy your coffee or chocolate while watching the people on the bustling streets below.
While the prices are on the high side, this is to be expected in such a touristy area. The shop also offers two paid activities: an on-site tour where you can taste the cacao and a class where you can create your own chocolate. I was pleased to learn that the shop practices social responsibility by helping local families in need.
The coffee itself had a good taste with a hint of cacao flavor. The shop also offers a free cup of their own-made cacao for testing, which is a nice touch. There are also a variety of sweets available, although I did not have the chance to try them.
Overall, I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for excellent coffee and chocolate in a cozy and relaxed setting. The addition of the social responsibility element and the opportunity for cacao crafting only adds to the appeal of this...
Read moreTwo days of ‘Perfect Breakfast’ in Boquete. Nestled on a corner in the center of Boquete, the Perfect Pair was an easy stroll from after a few nights at an in-town Inn. Immediately upon entering our senses we’re greeted by the smell of coffee, chocolate and Fresh baked goods. Here the owner makes everything from scratch and the results were an intoxicating lite breakfast and delicious coffee. Day 1 Hubby had the Quiche with bacon & I had the vegetarian quiche. He enjoyed his, mine was awesome - the fresh taste of carrots jumped right out of the creamy quiche. We split a piece of carrot cake (also very good). Hubby had a cafe americano con leche - delicious & expertly brewed. I treated myself to the mochacchino and it was worth every sip. The next morning we ordered two mochacchinos (hubby was jealous), I got the veggie quiche again and this time we split the banana bread. It was awesome and so much better than mine that I asked if they would share the recipe. Recipe was moist and chewy but light and not crumbly at the same time. The owner was not at the counter day 2 so I wasn’t able to get the recipe but I am still hopeful. We brought home some chocolate truffles for the family (a bit pricey- but good). If you are in Boquete this is definitely worth a visit for relaxing cup and yummy bite to eat (hangout upstairs for...
Read moreThis is likely the best place in town for both coffee and chocolate. I thought the cappuccino was very good. It was even brought up to us on the second floor.
