La Casa del Café Panamá — Restaurant in Bajo Boquete

We waited over an hour for our 2 small breakfast meals at 10:30am just for the server to come out and ask us if we had eaten yet, since they forgot about us and our order. Then it took another 20 minutes or so to finally get our food while everyone who came after us had already eaten. They do not make any modifications to their expensive tiny breakfasts, I asked for an egg with the waffle but she said they don’t make changes to the meals that I’d have to buy an additional $8 meal if I wanted eggs. The waffle was thin and tasted like a cheap eggo waffle. The mini breakfast sandwich was so thin and cheap barely qualified as a meal. Also, I asked for a mango smoothie she said they don’t make those even though it said mango right under the smoothie section on their beverage menu, so I did a strawberry smoothie and it was barely a strawberry flavored ice water. My experience could have been better. Nice place to pick up a nice quick bite and coffee.The owner was not friendly. I believe she was racist since my husband was black and I was Latina Panamanian. Her servers cleaned it up by providing courteous, positive interactions. The husband was very Polite, I told him he had a very Unique Cute Spot and that Customer Service was very important, since we are Business Owners in Philadelphia, Pa. for over 48 years and we treat people with courtesy and positive vibes, regardless of the color of their skin. We loved this place so much we made sure to stop in one more time before we flew out. I can't comment on the coffee, but we really enjoyed their selection of beer and wine! The wine pours are large, which we appreciated. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner our second time there and he was such a friendly delight! He allowed me to try some passionfruit liquor and gave me a little bag of coffee as a parting gift. The ambiance of the covered patio seating is so amazing and cozy.
