We were somewhat disappointed in our stay here. The room itself was pretty decent, clean and spacious with a nice hot shower (the shower door was missing though) but the surrounds really let it all down. The kitchen was full of worn out equipment, a kettle that didn't work, sharp knives but no chopping board and an extremely smelly bin. Worse was the selection of dogs that roamed the garden area. They didn't bother us directly but wandered through the kitchen and did their business anywhere they wanted. There was a constant bad smell, likely related to the dogs, around our room so that sitting in the hammock was not appealing. Located right in the middle of everything!- restaurants, supermarkets, cellular stores and even travel agencies that offer tours all around Boquete! there is a great coffee shop with a veriaty of items to choose from right next to the hostel, there is wi-fi, laundry services, a clean and tidy outdoor kitchen with an amazing view, hot water in the shower and the owners are locals and they are amazing, so nice, helpful and attentive. Read moreWe found Hostal Doraz by accident and were stoked with what we found. We paid dorm prices ($10 each) and had the room to ourselves. It was set up like a hotel, turned down linen and clean towels for us to use, a hot shower and communal kitchen.||It was also super safe being across the road from the Policía Nacional, we left the surfboards on the roof and even forgot the car keys in the door overnight without incident! ||It's walking distance to the Main Street that had great food and live music, and the local gardens.
