My room had a private balcony over looking the river, The location can't be beat - right next to the biggest grocery store in town and one block from the center of town. Several people on here mention issues with the temperature of the shower- I did not have any problem - it was easy to get it to the temperature I like.||||My room was clean and comfortable - keep in mind, this is a hostal, not a fancy resort and you won't be disappointed. The reception staff don't speak fluent English, but they know the basics, and the owner (from the U.S.) is often in the lobby to help. He mentioned that he is slowly upgrading the hostal, one...

Read moreTaken there by our tour guide. Tucan Tours booked it. We had thought we had paid for hotels but cheap and cheerful Tucan had booked us into this dirty cheap hostel. Prices are $20 per night and even that is a rip off. Rooms where dirty. Bedding was ancient and suspicious. Kitchen was so awful i took pictures to seek a refund. Over half the tour group revolted and refused to stay there and made Tucan put us in a proper hotel. Front of the hostel faces the rear of a large supermarket. Waterworks outside in the street so they had no water for the toilets and showers. Our room was dingy with only a small window. No view. No tea and coffee making facilities. No fridge. And no air conditioning. Only a tiny fan. Avoid. We refused...
