Go here for the $2 empanadas! This was my first time trying a cachapa, it was HUGE and very filling - think a slightly sweetened fluffy corn pancake with ham and cheese inside. For almost $9 wouldn’t order again. Arepas - avocado was underripe and chicken was very creamy but not much flavor. The beef/plantain was much tastier. Ask for extra garlic sauce, that stuff was magical! Also the guava and cheese cachito was very yummy, generous amount of fillings and traveled well even on a plane. The ladies helping me were very nice and I was able to get by with my minimal Spanish. Arepas and cachapa took about 15 minutes to cook, many people came in just to grab empanadas which are held in the warmer in front. They also sell espresso drinks and have almond milk as an...

The arepa was okay. Coffee was dismal. Price has gone up 20-30% in the last few months alone (you can check old menus in the photos), so it is no longer a reasonably priced establishment. Just overpriced for mediocre food. I would recommend checking out other more reasonably priced good food in the neighborhood.

Also I asked for a small coffee but was given and charged for a large one that I didn't even finish because it was bad. Felt a...

We had a relatively quick and very cheap lunch of an arepa and two empanadas here. The reina arepa was obviously better than any version I've had in the US and the chicken empanada was so flavorful and juicy! My partner enjoyed his ham and cheese empanada. They came to us incredibly hot and felt so fresh. The hot sauce on the table adding just a little kick.

The ladies working here...

This Venezuelan restaurant has a wonderful, inexpensive ($7) lunch special. We got the pabellon criollio, which had cripple sauce smothering perfectly pulled pork, rice, black beans with cheese and plantains. It was the perfect flavor posturing! The staff is very friendly and forgiving to poorly pronounced Spanish. They have a cute patio overlooking the fun, trendy street. Check this out for sure!
