I was nearing the end of a trip to Panama, and I wanted to stay in a nice hotel for a few days to sit around the pool and relax before returning home. I arrived before regular check-in hours, and the staff kindly assigned me a room. The room had not yet been cleaned, but that was OK, as it was still early. Eventually, at some point late in the day, the cleaning staff got around to changing the linens and towels, although oddly, they did not remove the trash left over from the previous guest. However, the room was extremely dank and musty because the air conditioning was not functioning. Some previous guest had, probably in desperation, set the temperature control to 11 degrees Celsius, and the unit was making an impressive noise, but there was little cold air coming out, and the room was warm and uncomfortable and smelled bad. To deal with this problem, the hotel staff had placed a large mobile dehumidifier into the room. It was full of water, but once I emptied it out, it worked great, the room dried out, and the dank smell went away. But it's very humid in Panama, and I had to empty it out every eight hours or so to keep it functioning, which is not something you want to do on vacation. So, while the room never got cool, at least it was dry. Also, the water temperature in the shower never got above lukewarm.||On the plus side, the hotel is in a great location, at the edge of busy El Cangrejo District and less than a block from the El Carmen Subway station. The pool area is beautiful and well kept, and the free breakfast buffet was great as well. The staff was uniformly warm and pleasant. ||If you look at reviews of this hotel, they seem to be very good or very bad, and I while I don't know for sure, I have to assume the quality of the review depends on whether or not the reviewer was put into a renovated room. My room located on the third floor was very poor, and based on my experience, I would not recommend...

Read moreWe were relocated to this hotel from Terranova hotel, I would not have chosen it on my own. Location was ok, althogh much further from the metro than we wanted. Not much around, all the restaurants seemed to be closed all the time, only a couple of supermarkets open. At first, I liked the modern and clean lobby and that we finally got the room, although I havent felt even a hint of friendliness from the receptionist and never seen even a slightest smile, except for one girl that was on duty on our last day. The room is very basic and pretty much run down (got a room 311 on the 3rd floor facing the elevator). Positive: a/c works, hot water in the shower, wifi is ok. Negative: stains everywhere - on walls, floor, ceiling, bedsheets. In the bathroom all facilities look like they will fall apart when you touch. We couldn't rotate the shower head and the shower door glass had a crack. It was very loud all the time, even during the night, people coming and going, slamming doors. We could hear everything happening in the rooms around us, peple showering, watching tv, talking, having sex... It seemed to me that were in a place that rents the room by hour. Had to spend 2 nights there and was happy when we finally checked out. Horrible experience, would not...
