If you are looking for amazing Japanese food then stop right here after you read this review. The sushi is immaculately designed, with fish and complementing additions made to enhance the complex nature of each roll. I tried the dragon, sugoi and Summermix roll and none of them tasted remotely similar. The fish pieces were large and the rice was just a vehicle for the entire flavor explosion. Equal parts creamy, soft and crunchy in each piece of sushi. The ambience was nice and inviting and all the staff made us feel welcomed. Yosh, our server, was a highlight of our experience and he was both kind and attentive. Skip the other Japanese restaurants and have your sushi needs truly fulfilled with the ultimate culinary adventure.
We decided to go back for a second visit and this time I got the Sugoi ramen, the Tokio roll and the Philadelphia especiale roll. The rolls were amazing and unique as described above both with their own flairs of creaminess vs crunchiness. The ramen was truly some of the best I've ever had and I lived in Tokyo for one year. They only have tonkotsu but the broth was complex and full flavored. The chashu was grilled to perfection, juicy and tender. The mushrooms and the egg were soft and delicate delicious additions. The amount of noodles was perfect. This is the most balanced ramen I've had in years and I couldn't believe I didn't need or want to add...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place, a few things went wrong amongst a bunch that went well.
For the good ones, service was pretty good, food was good, and price was just a little above the fairness line.
For the bad ones, from the previous list there is a little bit of the price, and on top of the price issue finding they have daily promotions that are about alcohol four of the seven days of the week (Wed to Sat) which is bad news for me as I don't drink any of it (but it may be good news for some of the people reading the review).
As for the food I ordered something under the name "Húmedo thailandés" (Wet Thai) -yes, for Spanish speakers, in the restaurant they spell thailandés with the 'h'-, which is sea bass in a curry and coconut sauce, with a side of jasmine rice; fish was very good though not as spicy as said on the menu, rice was much less sticky than Asian white rice usually is making it hard to get it with the chopsticks but a great side to go with the remaining sauce from the fish. Let's say to some extent this is not regular Asian cuisine but their own rendition of it.
Finally, I often focus on the food leaving the drink out, but in this case the drink deserves mentioning: I had San Blas Coconut, a mix of passion fruit, coconut, and spearmint; a little heavy on the sugar (to overcome the natural sourness from the passion fruit) but...
Read more1 star can’t describe this place me and my family have been coming to this restaurant once a week for the last 6 months and I have to say this is one of the worst restaurant's I have ever been to in my entire life. The first few times we went to sugoi the service was great and the food was spectacular and delicious but ever since about 3-4 months ago the service and food quality has just been declining. For one thing the last I’d say 10 times we have eaten there the service has been awful the waiters were just standing there in the corner doing nothing letting multiple people just sit them selfs at tables and then let them walk out because no one would serve them, also the manager was rude to use multiple times and seemed to be frustrated and annoyed when we had questions about things we we’re thinking about ordering .the food here was also not very good the last few times we have eaten here the food was was either cold or not the things we ordered and had to be sent back.On one occasion the manager made us pay for drinks that we didn’t even order or drink.my girlfriend even got food poisoning from eating the sashimi which didn’t even smell right or even look appealing to eat. I would think twice about thinking to eat at this restaurant honestly 1 star is to good for this place I would give in -5 stars definitely do not recommend...
