Samosas, dosa crepe, and vada sambar taste is authentic but sambar was overly spiced as was the bhindi. Green "chutney" was basically minty water. Samosa wrap was more like wanton than traditional dough. Chai ok. Methi paratha wasn't great this time, neither was the dosa filling.
Usually the flavors are spot on, that's the good thing. There's room for improvement though as they're really inconsistent. Would love for them to standardize quality and heat levels on a range from 1-5.
You just never know what you're going to get so it's very hit or miss. We'd go more often if they worked on keeping quality consistent.
Servers are nice enough and decor is a bit weird but I love that they have good Indian music/videos playing (good volume, not too loud).
Parking is now charged at the back lot but when I said I was just there to pick up an order they let me park without getting a ticket, didn't have to...
Read more4 stars is generous. I'm use to Indian restaurants in the UK so maybe i have high standards? Anyway, i decided to to try this one in Panama. It was lacking a lot. I expected 4 dips with pompodons but they only had two, and they weren't what I anticipated. No mango chutney, no coconut, no spicy chutney, so instead we ordered another starter. It was ok. Biriani doesn't come with curry. The curry needs to be ordered separately, which for me is odd. My food was too spicy. I ordered medium hot, which was inedible for me. Table service was good though. 👍 one shared starter and two main courses with rice cist 100 usd adter tax etc. Expensive. I wouldn't go again, but that might be because I have high standards due to living in UK where there is huge abundance of great Indian restaurants at...
Read moreThe food is delicious and authentic!
However…
The dishes are expensive in comparison to indian restaurants all over the world. AND they don’t even include the rice!!! Instead they charge 4$ to 6$ (!) for rice in addition to the already expensive curries!
Now, Expensive is one thing. No problem. Be upfront about it! But: not including the rice seems sneaky! If you don’t realize it’s extra, when you order and they ask if you want rice, you might think it’s just to verify you’re not worried about carbs or gluten. But you’re actually ordering another item from the menu, and, it immediately adds 5$ per person to the bill without you noticing!
I do not appreciate being fooled like this!
So no star for their greed and fooling me, two stars for the quality...
