SEN VIETNAM RESTAURANT REVIEW by Morena Dreyfus
LOCATION: At Jose Isaac Fabrega El Cangrejo, Bella Vista, Panama City Panama. Itâs located in a strategic tourist area in the city, I have been there two times in This year, The advertisement outside the restaurant does not represent the good quality of the food served there. The decord isnât fancy but the place has its charm with a beautiful oriental style, and a simple family atmosphere.
ABOUT THE MENU: The famous ancient Vietnamese Pho soup is the best in town. Vegetarian options offer an explosion of flavors and awaken the five senses of the diners. Sea food dishes are stoning and good smeling servings, (I have seen them). I have tried the soup, spring rolls, mixed vegetables, mango salad, but I've never tried seafood or pork meat because of my religious beliefs.
CONCLUSION: Itâs the best restaurants to eat Vietnamese in Panama The Vietnamese soup is exquisite, quality versus price ratio is very good. The portions are good, the price was fair, even cheap, every meal taste fresh and they serve it quickly. The place is nice and spacious. Any bad situation, can be overlooked by the good experience of eating delicious food at a good price. You don't need a reservation, visit it so you can say...
Read moreFirst off, the place walking up to it was looking like a good spot to eat. The young guy in front was very nice and attentive. Though he was not Vietnamese, he was knowledgeable. The Vietnamese people in the back were not very nice.
The coffee was made with no care. The condensed milk wasnât mixed just let drip into the glass settled at the bottom and filled to the brim with ice. Had to ask for a lager cup to actually allow room for the mix. It was then tasty after being treated correctly by be and the man in front.
The food was not good and not fresh and not correct. Pho with mariscos was old broth with over cooked shrimp (2) sliced in half to make 4. The sprouts basil and lime was bagged and almost moldy. We found that out upon eating in the hotel. We also ordered spring rolls. Iâll let the pictures explain. They were definitely re-re-cooked and stuffed with mysterious ingredients. The noodles were over cooked as well, likely microwaved.
I know itâs not smart to get food from a place that doesnât specialize in it in a different country, but they were Vietnamese. They just didnât care. And showed it. Definitely will not ever go there. Probably the worst in two americas (central and north). Enjoy...
Read moreReally good food. Definitely satisfied our craving for pho and fresh spring rolls. They serve very tasty coffee as well.
However, if youâre unfortunate enough to get the waitress who works there, be prepared. She is extremely unfriendly and downright rude. It took her forever to acknowledge our existence when we walked in and acted as though we were a burden and waste of her time. Another table walked out because of this. When we didnât understand something she said she huffed and walked off ignoring us for another five minutes. When we finally got her attention again I saw her roll her eyes. Eek. It was a weird experience and really a shock considering how incredibly kind everyone had been in Panama so far.
We told the man who came to take our payment. He apologized (we think he was the owner or manager) but didnât seem surprised at all. I assume sheâs the wife of the owner or something because I canât understand why or how you can keep someone like that employed.
Again the food was really great, so go if youâre really craving it! But try to go outside of the afternoon hours when the owner is on his break and sheâs waiting...
