Ammi — Restaurant in San Felipe

Popped in for a quick after work drink and the view and decor are gorgeous. We tried a cheese fondue that was lovely. Service at the rooftop was very good.

However, a rather odd and upsetting occurrence. We were on our way down the corridor to the bathroom before leaving the rooftop bar and hotel. The air conditioning had dripped water onto the floor by the elevators making it slippery. My colleague slipped and fell very hard, thankfully no visible injuries but we intend to see a doctor tomorrow to confirm and the knee has now begun to swell.

The maitre d responded quickly but I was a bit upset but her reaction. Yes, she enquired if everything was okay and whether we were guests of the hotel. I pointed out the water to her but instead of calling for someone to mop it up she insisted that the restaurant call security who would ensure there were no cuts or bruises before we were allowed to leave the hotel. This seemed clearly to be an issue of reducing liability for personal injury versus ensuring a customer was okay.

We explained that our driver had arrived and wished to leave and though hesitant they let us leave.

I do hope the hotel ensures that they put proper signage until the air conditioning is...

Ammi is a rooftop lounge at Sofitel Legend in Casco Viejo. It is considered upscale with a distinguished crowd.

We ordered several plates - the Entraña was the best of all we ordered.

The grilled shrimp seemed it had been insufficiently cooked and tasted watered down.

This little speakeasy inside Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo is honestly a gem. It’s hidden behind a bookshelf. When I went in with my husband it was completely empty.
